it's not like marijuana is some mystery thing no one knows about, or something brand new that's just discovered. there have been MANY scientists to do research on the plant. Chance are, they aren't all going to be wrong.

weed is a drug, all drugs have bad effects on your health which usually stem from long term use.
compared to some drugs, weed is alot safer, but that doesn't mean it's not going to do any damage to your body.

do some research yourself and see how consestaint the information is your going to find that its not consestaint

yes, they can be wrong, but they aren't all going to be wrong about everything.

the whole how many cigarettes is equal to one joint is always going to be changing. for one, all joints are not the same size. and what are we measuring here? the overall damage you get from one joint, and how many cigarettes it takes to equal that damage? or how much tar is in one joint, and how many cigarettes does it take to produce that same amount? unless your more specific about the cigarette:joint thing then the info is always going to be changing!

and i know, anyone can see the inconsistancies. i think just think some of them could be due to lack of background info (like the whole cigarette:joint thing). not all will still be right, but with more info and specifics of what they're researching, then the info might be more consistent. =)

which particular information are you calling BS anyway?

yes, I agree there is inconsistent info out there.. why do you suppose marijuana has been so damn controversial?

I'd like to ask though, what kind of research are you doing? I can say I have done research myself... but that sure as hell doesn't mean that I can say that my findings were a "fact".

was your research correlational or causational? and if so, did you check for potential confounds? were your variables well defined? if so, what were they? did you do proper statistical analysis to make sure the findings were statistically significant? how do you know how reliable or valid your findings were? do you really think your findings were generalizable to the public?

researchers have more ways of ruling out the possibility of "fluke experiments" than you might think. it isn't that simple to be able to call something a "fact".
