Apaka ~ it depends what you mean by being put out? There's basically three options: General Anesthetic (totally knocked out), Conscious Sedation (which i had) and just freezing.
The conscious sedation was a IV with valium, along with laughing gas, oxygen, and freezing of the mouth. wasn't too bad. I was awake and slightly groggy 30 minutes later. You don't remember too much either, yet you're still awake.
And it's not that long of a surgery either (not nearly 4 1/2 hours! OUCH!@$ This only takes about 30 minutes.. hehe..
Sammy ~ yours are impacted too?? That happened to me, my bottom two were sideways and pushing against my bottom molars, started to hurt so I had to get them removed. No dif then the rest of the teeth. If you can, get all four removed at once! I didn't have to, but I chose to anyways.. good choice! (Well, if you're covered by medical, otherwise it's a little pricey..) I don't think you'd have to take out your labret either. I can see no reason why you would. Maybe a tongue piercing, but not the labret.. (i could be wrong though)
