Meh.
I know people who have been to Ibiza. They had fun, yeah, lots of fun! But it wasn't, from what they said, a 'rave' environment, because that's the whole idea of Ibiza. If you tell everyone about a "rave" such as those at the Coliseum, non-"ravers" are going to show up just because it's suddenly "cool" to go to "raves". Same thing with Ibiza. It's just a place with lots of all night clubs. |

the north side ov ibiza is home to
some ov the better bush parties in the world some say they equal the southeast asia ones dunno never been but bush parties wif nekkid people that last for a couple ov dayz might b considered "ravey" in some regards small island, but mass amounts ov stuff going on it should also b noted that none ov the kids who r so sure they know what "raves" and "raving" are all about have never actually been 2 1 i think i threw one once but that was many, many moons ago and even then, definitions r subjective ravers don't call people names they refer 2 them by thier names keep reaching for that rainbow j. Well no, raves were not born in Ibiza. They were born in the wharehouse filled industrial sectors of large US and european cities when american disco born eletronic dance music merged with european post war electronic industrial to create such legendary styles as acid house and techno.
That doesn't mean they should stay there though. Ibiza, always being a fun destination for clubbing and sunny beaches, has a lot of music cafes and night clubs (A music cafe is a very alien concept here, but very popular in Europe). It was a natural evolution for the nightlife to migrate towards "rave" style entertainment and techno clubbing, and travel agencies jumped on the occasion to revive the island's slow 80s economy. So although Ibiza has always been a semi commercial vacation destination, you will find lots of clubs and events featuring the latest "underground" DJs and technology oriented music, and some really fun stuff to do, especially now that activities and terms such as raving have surfaced in the mainstream clubbing vocabulary. And just like any other "scene", if you take the time, you will discover the local musical sub culture, which is most often the stuff you don't read about in magazines and may (or may not) prefer. You have to be there to experience it and decide for yourself. In any case, if you have the chance to travel and experience new things, you should always grasp it. Have fun! :) Lace |

some of the comments on this forum are very informative others are simply destructive....all I know now is that either way I think I wouldn't mind taking a trip to ibiza.....but to live there would be a little extreme....your mind sould body etc... needs some time alone etc... and in a party island I think it might become a little hard on your body....either way whether there are raves or just all night clubs on ibiza I think it would probably be a lot of fun
