Kel, last year I lost 15 lbs in a month...w/out exercising except for 100 crunches/day. I went on a clear soup diet for the first week, and after that I cut out almost all carbs, especially empty white carbs, drank only water and apple juice, and ate mostly salad, fruit and flax.

I've found a great new source of tons of protein, lots of other vitamins and nutrients, and to top it off, it tastes great: HEMP HEARTS. They taste kinda like a faint peanut butter, and no matter what you put them in they take on the flavour of the other ingredients. ANNNNNND they speed up your metabolism!

If you're ever actually, you know, in Richmond, that place where you live, hehe, I will try to hit the gym with you!
i just went by the health food store in blundell centre and the detox is $34, i'm going to check out choices and maybe capers tonight.
there's no way i'll go on a clear broth diet nat. were you shitting water all week? augh. how did you eat your flax? was it grounded flax or flax seeds, or flax oil?
hemp hearts eh? i already use these hemp seeds, they come in a black bag with a gold label? is it the same thing? little white and green seeds. if not i'll def try it out!

i'm in richmond at my parents house most the time now. give me a day and time, i'm flexible.

ps. i hate crunches!

Have fun in Costa Rica!!!

As for the dieting it sounds like some decent advice you already got and besides what would I know. Go organic food though, you don't even want to know what is being done to non organic foods. Especially eat organic meats or just avoid the whole problem by eating more seafood and less meat.

hey i got my herbal d tox and i'm goign to start it tomorrow! it was $32 something at choices!

ohhhh im so excited!

i'll give you a lil info on it...
you can eat as much as you want but it has to be foods on the menus.
no yeasty foods (yogurt, alcohol, vinegar), no flour stuff, and no sweet fruits (pineapple, bananas), no dairy,
key is to have a certain balance of acidic, alkaline and neutral foods and that helps you detox your body. anywhoo, you take theses 3 diff types of pills and liquid drops for 12 days and they each do something different.

there's this thing called the cleanse. I don't really know how it works but my friend does it every once in a while. You don't eat anything for like a week or 2 or however long you want to do it. Instead you drink certain things a day or maybe eat like oranges one day...iono there's a proper way to do it and everything. I know drinking these bottles of water that have like maple syrup and keyen pepper and lemon in them or something, like a minumum of 8 bottles a day...I totally don't know how it really works but it's not unhealthy at all. If your interested I could get you the info

girls that are anorexic use those "diets".
they`ll cut like a beef boullion(sp?) block in half and add it to hot water...and blamo theres your clear "soup"

mmmmmmm flavored water mmmmmmmmmmm.
also for breakfast they`ll drink 1 glass of cranberry juice, and then for dinner thier big splurge is raw veges and 2 saltine crackers.

thier calorie intake for one day is like 300 or something.

I was just reading about a fruit and veggie drink detox program that lasts about a week. No solid foods, just fruit and veggies put through a juicer. Supposedly at the end you lose a few pounds and feel like a million bucks.

I said CLEAR SOUP not BROTH, read the fucking post.

Clear soups = minestrone, vegetable, tomato, etc.. Clear VEGETARIAN broth with veggies and small amounts of pasta. In no way is eating strictly soup for a week pro-anorexia!

I find it funny that you're giving out health and fitness tips - last I saw you, you didn't look too healthy and in shape, IMO.

Kel, if the cleanse goes well for you I'll probably do it the first week of December. Wait, I'll start it on the 4th 'cause it's Lisa's birthday on the 2nd, we're going on on the 3rd and I plan to get plastered, heh.

Ugh. Do you even know what the point of a cleanse is?
The point is to take natural supplements and not eat anything damaging to your body so it can basically rejuivinate itself. A cleanse clears out the extra fats, unused nutrients, and waste products from your body. This differs greatly from taking laxatives because all they do is clear out your intestines and bowels.
