nurses
i just went through a bad emergency room experience. due to the fact that all walk in clinics were closed and i was sporting a fever along with my bladder infection i figured it was time for anti-biotics so i waltzed on in. of course i anticipated hours of waiting, that doesnt really bother me, and its nothing i havent come to expect.
however this one doctor was just awful. demanding a patient that was a little out of his mind due to brain trama receive more adivan while the nurses calmly said that he had already received enough and that he was now calm to a point of his eyes being closed. not only that but they had also had police come to help restrain the man. this one doctor was continuing to belittle and undermine the nurses, when they were obviously doing a better job. on top of all of this, seeing my horrified face when i thought the bad doctor would be mine one of the nurses came in and said not to worry, that i wouldnt be seen by her. in a very heated situation, they were the ones to stay calm, converse with the family about the situation, and also seemed to be the only ones who were knowledgable on what\how to treat the man. being beside a 250 pound raging man who was throughing fists at everything he could, i was calm not because of the police but because the nurses seemed to be in control of the situation. those ladies and men sure do rock. |
