He's an absolute fucking genius. Not just a great animator with a completely unique style, but also incredibly funny.. with an impeccable sense of comic timing.

Not many people caught the animation festival that just came through town (only 1 weekend)... Hertzfeldt unleashed 3 new strips that bookended the show.. an introduction, an intermission (IN THE THIRD DIMENSION!) and a conclusion. Needless to say, they were the most fucked up interludes ever. The conclusion pretty much just featured little cloud men being killed by giant robots.
