I realize this thread isn't directed towards me, but feel free to contact me regarding any hiking excursions you might want to partake in as I used to be an avid hiker and would love to get back in it this year.

We have to do a lil research seeing as though alot of mountains are still snow capped.

I know TONS of places

Mateo's right, It is a lil early right now. So anything a t a really high elevation might be a lil too snowy until the middle of June.

For this month I think Mt Strachan would be a lot of fun. We'd start off at Cyrpess Bowl, Hike up a Gully to the Peak, Have Lunch and then follow the real trail down the other side, bypassing a wartime plane crash

It would take us about 5 or 6 hours round trip

What do ya'll think?

In my Opinion The Grouse Grind sucks

It's a Grind......thats all
Overpopulated and not very much beauty
people like to brag that they did it

One of my favorite hikes is where you start by doing the Grouse Grind and then proceeding another 5 hours past it to Crown Mountain

The highest point on the North Shore Mountains
I took Boopti up there!

couldn't agree more... not very easy, but not very long or nice... just trees and dirt and no views or anything special... and of course WAY too many people. A good easy hike that's very accessible (which also makes it a little crowded) is Seymour... of course you will have to wait a little while for this one.

Dave.... interested in going up the Lions this summer? always wanted to do that.

I reccomend the chief for a first hike.

The grind is ass.

The chief is fucking kewl and it takes a good 1.5 hours up.

I need to get in shape b4 hitting a 5, 6 hour hike though dave.

I'm down with the Chief... there's also some cool hike/walks at the Smoke Bluffs just outside Squamish - only takes about 2 hours, where a lot of people rock climb (some good climbs there too!)

Chief is cool cause it's low elevation, there will be no snow

I'm down, cause we can climb the 2nd and third peaks
Which makes it a 3 hour hike, but they're better

The grind is only fun when you walk down it in the snow with your snowboard boots on, carrying your gear!
