I've been there but never lived there.. seems like a pretty cool place if you're into big money and big pollution.. on the upside, there's lots of culture.
However, I'd definitely choose Montreal over TO, but that's just me. I have a soft spot for Quebec. You wanted to know how it compares to Vancouver.. well, there's less culture but more natural beauty in BC. Most of the lakes in TO are totally polluted whereas in BC there are so many to choose from. My ma lived in TO in the 70's and she loved it.. I think it's all just a matter of opinion and it depends on what headspace you're in at the time. Many easterners would die to come out west and wouldn't think twice about heading back. You thinking of moving there? Last edited by ginger.ninja; Jan 05, 05 at 02:26 PM. |

i lived in Ottawa and stayed in Toronto for 2 weeks.
not a place i would move to. no mountains, groggy air, fields of wind fans, and just an over-all negative attitude. Because its so self contained, there is not a lot of people in good moods because there isnt really anywhere you can escape to. i would say Mont tremblant is a beautiful place to live if your thinking back east. Its their version of Whistler. |

I would choose Vancouver over Toronto anyday. Toronto is just a bigger and more industrialized version of van. vancouver is easier to get around cause obviously its smaller. if u dont drive van is also very transit friendly. not like toronto isnt with subways and shit but it takes a long ass time. people seem a lil off but thats a lil biased since i never lived there to really get to know people. we got the nature and outdoors stuff as well. and we got the erbs haha |

I visited Toronto last winter.
If you're city person then this place is for you. There is always something going on in the city. Personally, I consider myself an outdoor person, I value the natural beauty of BC. The mountains, the ocean, and the green is what makes BC top choice. I found Toronto to be way too cold, grey and dirty. I will have to visit once in the summer to make a full opinion. |

i lived from wen i was 6months old til about 11 yrs old..
i lived in scarbourough, north toronto... and a couple other neighbourhoods.. its diff then BC for many reasons.. the style... more black ppl.. lol (its funny cuz its true).. this is wut i think.. BC is like florida.. Toronto/Montreal are like.. New York i would much rather live down there... for the way it is.. but the people i have met here totally make me change my idea.. but.. if i could move everyone out there.. i would.. p.s i miss the snow.. i neve thought id say it.. but i do! |

im thinkin possibly going to toronto for my reading break..thats if anyone wants to join me. but first i want to find out what the big deal is and what i need to check out (other than muchmusic). seems like a neat place to go for a week..but for what? no big art museums... just sounds like a city with lots of good looking ppl and "the government"?..if thats what the giant club is called.

i remember wen i was little me, my bro and his bestfriend at the time, we were walkin by the gouvernment.. and i was like.. "LETS GO.. I WANNA GO".. its huge..! if u go in the summer.. check out "the docks" nightlife is dope there.. but Montreal has a waaaaaaaaaaaaay better night life.. plus legal age is 18 ;) |

i would just like to state that torontonians are fabulous. i personally love toronto. it's a city full of culture and it's a city with much more oppritunities than vancouver, in my opinion. Vancouver has it's upsides and downsides, as does toronto. it's like comparing apples and oranges, really. i find that either people love toronto or they hate toronto; there's no real in between. as for the people...it's a whole different mentality there. it's a big culture shock at first but you adapt pretty fast to it. -s. |

Andrew, go.
Who cares about anything.. the reason your goin is more important! Call me about the basement shit, aight? ;) Bev, if you go for a week.. it wont be long enough.. IMO.... Kirsta and I went for 2.. and it STILL wasn't long enough. there's a lot out there.. and your gonna wanna explorer it more. As for the people out there.. I think they're pretty cool, from the ones I met! tho.. they were ravers! |
