Almost everything on this site is an ad or link of some sort.
These ones bring in some money to keep FNK running. All you have to do is click on them; support! Man you people are bad at that. geez!

Ya they need to be moved and cleaned up a bit; I agree but Myles is working on it.
Give it a rest; I wouldn't block, I would click BECAUSE I KNOW HOW TO SUPPORT

Dear members of FNK,

I’m sure all of you have realized the new addition of the google ads on the site recently. As the site comes into its 6th year running, we thought it would be a good idea to open our doors a crack and network a bit more with the outside world. Yes, it may bother some, but with technology nowadays, it’s very simple to block these ads to your discretion.

With the development of the internet persona, FNK will adapt and change like it always has. We hope that this will not discourage the use of the site, but we hope that members will accept the reality that costs need to be covered and expansion is necessary.

Thank god, at least FNK Has a Nicer LAYOUT Then other sites like Tranceaddict or http://www.dogsonacid.com/ Which are ABSOLUTELY Awful and only people with absolutely no taste can find them attractive who live in a dark room all day.

Even though Red Colour Scheme is pretty silly itself, while it Could easily be Green or Blue and match the SPLASH Page.

ADs are clearly a good idea if FNK admins have finally decided to Upgrade the SERVERS and Increase the speed of these slow-ass dragging forums, but most likely that's not the case and they just wanna grab a buncha moolah for some Beer and Munchies. The way they are presented is also quite foolish though, but who am I kidding? Even though I might be a better Web Designer - I don't own this place afterall, and It's up to the admins to decide on its future. One thing though - its perfectly natural to make your project profitable at one point after putting so much time and effort into it.

FNK Server cost me 3Gs. We've got monthly co-location fees + bandwidth fees. I wouldn't say FNK runs at a profit.

Yourself i think. Ads are in the most effective positions. Most anoying? Perhaps, but i'm not here to debate that, i'm here to make them effective.

I believe the ads are generating the more revenue from public traffic we get through search engines and not the normal signed up users. I could create a donation thinger to remove ads. Like $5-10 per account or something. I could also implement a system where users over 1000 posts get ads removed. Lots i can do, i'm just playing around right now.

I think you and myles should have a website competition. He makes some of the nicest pages i've ever seen. FNK is not a good example of his skills...this shit is ugly.

I still wouldn't say this site makes anyone money, we're just trying to cover the costs. With the extra revenue from the google ads it will allow FNK to buy a couple hundred more GB of traffic. I was thinking we should set up some free MP3 hosting for Local DJ sets.

another word of advice you internets people. Ad revenues keep websites going. I find google ads actually bring up some pretty interesting links once and a while. With the FNK ads, was linked to a D&B DJ's website and downloaded some pretty bad ass sets from his page. Thanks google.

Now usually when ever i go to a webpage that i like and they have an interesting google ad, i click on them.

Two reasons:
1. Might find a gem of a webpage you may have never of found.
2. It helps out the person who's website you've just been at.
