DOOMS NIGHT - Explanation for ticket pricing
Dear FnKers,
Sorry for taking so long to reply back to you. Well, I just had a chance to go over the entire thread. I'll try my best to answer your question. At this point, we are pratically close to selling out the show already. Over 4000+ tickets have been sold already. It's no joke as ticketmaster ran out of tickets. There will be no more tickets available besides "certain" stores such as Laramy and possibily Boomtown. Keep in mind the legal capacity for this event is approximately 4500 or so and we want to watch our capacity. The tickets that we have released in the stores are limited since we're pulling it from the door now. We will be only only releasing certain amount a ticket per week at this point. As for out of towners who are from Kelowna, Seattle or 3-4 hrs drive away from us - please email us [email protected] as our [email protected] is currently not working properly. We will try our best to address your private concerns / work something out, please PM if you did send an email, so that I can see if it has been followed up. The explanation for the tickets for being so expensive is quite simple. A lot of people purchased in advance through "bulk" sales from the stores, bulk through private sellers, or ticketmaster. Plus there ain't any tickets left right now. Plus, this is the "FIRST" pne event in a WHOLE year plus its halloween. Lastly, 800+ tickets were sold within 4 hrs after the earlybird tickets were released through ticketmaster. We didn't even have the opportunity to really announce it on the forums. When I got home from work, ticketmaster had to call us to let us know that 20% of the show was sold within 4hrs. We didn't even know how the general public knew about the early birds tickets so early. For those without a ticket, I hope you can find someone who had purchased an early bird as there are a lot out there. For NYE (last PNE event until October 2007), we will announce the rough estimate when the tickets are scheduled to come out and hopefully people will have more time to prepare. Honestly, we did not know Dooms Night will sell out this fast (pratically in 1.5 weeks). It's still a month away but this show has sold out 2 years in row. Bottom line, you can expect this show to have an amazing setup and you will not be disappointed at all. Regards, Solid Management |

I understand that there is alot of hype on dooms this year and I understand that it would sell out this fast, I just think that before you started selling tickets you should have released the lineup. Thats what people are bitching about here. the pricing is the same every year, its never been any different, last dooms I paid 95 bucks, but then again that was 2 days before it.. I cant even imagine what it would go for 2 days before hand from someone trying to get rid of a ticket.

I understand why it sold out quickly, looking at the boards so far there are a lot of private sellers (not ones that are working for Solid, but people that bought extra tickets) who are selling tickets because they now they say 'they don't want to attend'.
The people that caught the release of tickets early are lucky, they are making a profit on a rave that they arn't even wanting to attend. |

Oh I can totally understand why the ticket prices are set at that price. As Erik said, location, not exactly cheap; your headliners are absolutely mint, (which are also very expensive to book, fly in, accomodate, etc etc), decor, which is usually top notch....events like this add up fast....I think for a quality event like this, people should definately expect to pay that, imho, its worth it.

Actually private sellers got their tickets like a day after ticketmaster soldout of the early birds. We only wanted ticketmaster to have the early birds, so the general public would have the same opportunity as anyone else. Even ticketmaster limited a maximum purchase of 8 per a credit card.
Regardless, we'll take this as a learning experience. We did not expect the show to sellout this fast. Who would expect 4 hours later that many tickets would be sold so fast? I didn't thats for sure. I didn't even have a chance to post on the forum about it. And we didn't release the lineup yet because we had to "fully" confirm and have the DJ/Artists sign their contracts first. For NYE, we'll give you guys an ample notice in advance when the tickets will be out approximately. |

I'm not happy with paying extremely high prices for tickets but this will be my first rave without my broken ankle. I always look forward to Dooms Night (my favorite annual party) and Solid Corp does do a fantastic job on bringing in some of the best acts as well as going all out on their audio/visuals.
Let's just HOPE tickets aren't all sold out before I try and get my hands on them. This year will be my 3rd annual Dooms Night :) |

it seems like every solid event you have these group of people who kick bitch whine...moan.... etc on prices of the event and then slander solid only to go to the event.... party hard and are one of the first people to post reviews about an event and praise them.....
I mean really people.... First PNE rave in a while... on top of that being dooms night its a no brainer that these tickets would sell fast. I'm pretty sure even if the lineup was posted and the tickets would be sold at that time that tickets would even go faster and people would still bitch.... Anyone who's ever gone to a solid corp show (especially when its been held at the PNE) knows that the level of production and the level of talent that is booked is class, Everyone knows when halloween is and everyone knew that dooms night was going to take place even well before tickets were being sold... Its a matter of keeping an eye and ear out.... |
