*sigh*
Maryah there you go stereotyping all guys again..... I'm disappointed by this post. You of all people should know not to stereotype. I mean personally I know plenty of guys who could honestly care less what you talk about let alone be creeped out by it. But I understand darling.... the whole reason behind the post as a matter of fact is merely a bitter rant. You are in fact on your period right now and are feeling hurt, angry, distressed, and bloated (Isn't the bloating the worst?) You feel like you need to lash out at what you deem to be the root of all your problems... MEN. So in saying that.... I forgive you your misgivings and tell you now that I love you anyways! P.S. - For all the girls who read this who don't know me.... THAT WAS A JOKE AND PLEASE DON'T BITE MY HEAD OFF!!!! :c-tard: |

i dont have a problem talkin about my rag... but pesonally i dont think its a good thing to do... i find the whole process gross... i realize that its for something amazing, child birth.... but when you pass out in your bathroom from pain.... its not pretty. and i used to bleed way more then the average bear and would be changing things every hour or so... and thats no fun at all, expecaill when youre an athlete... but i learned that staying in shape makes it a lot les heavy...
anyways back on topic... i just think the whole process is gross, so if ther is something other then my rag to talk about, i will. i'd rather talk about the pain in my chest each month than the stuff thats leakin out of me. |

then i said but we have Viagra...meaning that now erectile dysfunction is coming into the public eye.... Anyhoos .......I don't mean that we all need to sit down and talk rag I'm just rolling my eyes at the attitude that a period is something that is only a woman's business it takes two to mate, we carry the life around - but the boys do just as much -- So why is there such an assumption that this part of the reproductive cycle is female business only (ps said post was inspired when a gal pals man wouldn't stop and pick her up some Tampex cause it's too embarassing, and then later in some day while reading a livejournal there was a *Boys be warned - this is about my PERIOD* entry..and then some rather ridiculous remarks beimng left behind about 'info we didn't need to know...) |

Interesting thread...
Those that know me know that when it comes to this subject or any similar subject associated with the health and well being of a friend, or girlfriend or whatever, I have no problem being direct and talking about it. That would also include yeast and bladder infections that I believe someone else mentioned in this thread. For some reason, a lot of my female type friends take comfort in talking to me about a ton of things, including that type of thing as well... it doesn't phase me nor bother me. If a friend or girlfriend asked me to go pick them up something at the store, I would... it's life... hell, it's the year 2004. I think as people get older and more mature, they definitely get more de-sensitized to this type of thing and really, it becomes no big deal at all. You make some valid points Jinglestiltskin, however try not to assign the stereotype to all guys... some of us do understand and appreciate the stuff you ladies do go through on a daily, weekly and monthly basis for our benefit and the purpose of reproduction. and speciafically the period cause it's not just guys - we women folk are taught that our cycle is 'dirty' that's why they call pads, tampons and such hygiene products Hyigene...as if there was something dirty about the whole thing Messy...well sure -- but dirty? think of what that conjures un in the mind... And where did I get this nic name from kraig? it makes me giggle...i can't spin hay into gold ! Last edited by Jingles; Feb 28, 04 at 01:21 AM. |

*sigh* i guess every guy is different with how they react to nature.
one of my ex's wouldnt even call me and would just avoid me completely when i was on my rag. however, my current and 4 ever b4 :) is fine with it.. i get the occasional "EW" or "puking motion" when i talk about girlie things... but thats to be expected haha... when it comes down to it tho,, i got it as good as crystal.. my boy will cuddle me, and bring me tea and have movie nite with me and such and rub my tummy to make cramps feel better. i dont know what i'd do if i had one of those bfs thats like FUCK YOUR CRAMPS... *pulls head towards dick* i'd prolly break up with him haha. :kimmie: |

I talk about my rag a lot.. boy/girl.. i do get bad reactions from guys but I just laugh it off and talk about it even more just to bother them. But I talk about my rag openly with my girls' though. I guess that's how comfortable we are with each other, and amongst girls, it's not such a big deal anyways.
I don't blame boys for being grossed out about something they never have to go through, especially since it involves blood.. In fact, if I never got my rag I'd probably be pretty grossed out at the idea too. |
