Ive shit kicked my body many times over the years, and now its returning the favor. So ive decided to quit drinking, mind you i quit drinking before...AND IT WAS THE WORST 5 MINUTES OF MY LIFE!

Maybe you should start taking some crazy ass herbal concotion that will give you that extra *zing* you need on nights when you`ll be out all hours of the night?

or start up a vicious crack habit!hahaha (i kid)

My boss was telling me he used to work with a guy (project manager for a software company) who put in 80hrs of work a week for about a year. He ended up getting burnt out. As someone earlier pointed out, it actually is a physiological disorder.. short circuits your brain.

Anyways, he had to quit his job and cannot focus on anything that requires him to think -he's resorted to doing woodwork for a living. He can't even play more than 9 holes of golf in a day... he just gets run down and exhausted.

Apparently the effects of burnout do go away after a few years.

Bottomline is, cut some things out of your schedule, and replace them with rest.

I think you already know what's making you tired. All things combined, but especially getting youself adjusted to a regular schedule (9-5 type deal) makes it really relaly hard to do anything else that's later than you'd usually stay up, even on wknds.

I feel like an old lady sometimes, and I'm the same age as you! I think it comes from being a workaholic/doing lots of things at once. You can do it for awhile, but eventually you will feel the impact. I know I did. I'm currently learning to take it easy. It's funny, to have to work at taking time for myself and experiencing boredom.

What have you got going on for you personally in your life? And spiritually? I don't necessarily mean religion or faith, but some kind of personal outlet... I personally really benefit from yoga and art and dance. I know you're busy preforming/promoting and you like those things, but maybe there's another piece missing that would breath more life into you? I know you also get to create music, but hmm I wonder if you'd benefit from like meditation or yoga or something...

Im sure apart of it is getting old but I would strongly agree its mosly mental.

Recently I noticed I would get home from work and want to pass out... I think this is more of a health thing though (iron or vitamin D deficiancy)

I also have a much better job/carreer now that I take seriousely by making sure I get a good 7-8 hours sleep and no crazy partying the night before.

Im sure hype has alot to do with it too. Same old partying does get teatiouse and im starting to enjoy early fresh saturday morings going to the gym, running errons and watching movies (such a rare treat!)

Not doing drugs also makes it alot harder to party so late. Instead I take a nap before I go out and eat helthy food that will gives me enough energy to last till at least 3-4am. 2-3 redbulls help too lol.

yes, i have a lot of outlets, sometimes too many.. i love doing yoga, but i think i need to force myself into a class, it is too difficult to do it in my house and is always the first thing to be sacrificed when i have no time..

that is why i took up making jewelry.. to do something calming and repetitive yet creative with my hands....

i need more hours in the day, is all.

i had the complete opposite problem last fall and just recently - i couldnt sleep from too much stress. it was almost like id get too wound up emotionally or even physically and i wouldnt be able to calm my mind down long enough to sleep. i'd be extremely tired and have hardly any energy while sitting down, but i just couldnt sleep. then i started drinking more linden leaf tea and taking calm-aid (herbal pill) and a multi-vitamen. blamo! i could sleep. recently when i was going through setting up for a grad show, gradutating, finals, and so on, i went back into the bad habit...... and just when i thought it was all over, i started working right away. now im falling asleep by 6 pm, which i dont want to do, just cause my body wants a break. im good at being aware of what my body needs, sometimes its just harder to acheive giving it its needs.

but really, it seems like you know what to do and that your extremely self aware. best idea is alwasy to just listen to your body. give it the rest its asking for and it will award you later.

i have the same problem myself. it seems like the opposite from everyone else. i get so wound up from stress and over-working myself that i can't calm down and relax even if i try. this is even after i stopped drinking coffee, i went from about 1-2 pots a day to less than one cup and nothing has changed. i can still party all night, with no drugs, and wake up the next morning ready to go to work. no matter how hard i work myself, i dont ever seem to slow or calm down.

sometimes i wish i was burning out like most people. the trick is to find a balance i guess.

Needing sleep is a mental weakness. seriously, the human body needs a couple of hours of REST a day(not even sleep) to rejuvinate itself. Sleep, specifically REM is for your mind.

I know personally when life is going great, I usually only sleep around 2-5hrs a day, I can't get to sleep even if i try, and once I fall asleep I want to be awake. However, when I am stressed out about something, I usually need aroung 7-9 hrs a night, which stresses me out even more. LOL.

Countless times I've pulled 70-80 hrs without sleep with NO DRUGS without any problems, and when I finally sleep, I am out for no more than 10-12hrs.

^^ you are seriously deluded man.. a healthy adult needs between 5 and 8 hours of sleep to rejuvenate.

you'd think you hadn't slept in awhile, or something. ;)

Hey I use to have the same issue everyday i would sit at work and be so tierd from just everything. Why dont you try a different day job thats what worked for me switching jobs works awsome i know it sounds harsh but its fun to start all over again meet new co workers etc. Getting up everyday for the same thing over and over again you already know what your tommorow is going to be like thats why your tierd. I work 9-5 m-f and i go out as soon as i am done work and dont get home till 2 or 3 then get up for work the next morning i smoke mad weed and still have the energy. There are so many reasons that people become "tierd" stressfull relationships, mom dad issues, school problems? tons find out what the issue is and fix it garenteed that will be your fix.

P.S: I found out why i was so tierd for like a year its because i didnt finish highschool so i went back finished my shit in nights and to be honest it was so much fun ! find out what is making you "tierd" obviously its a mental thing not a physical.

if you train your body over a long period, you can get yourself down to 3-4 hours of sleep a night. extended sleeping is a mental dependence that are convenient to us due to day/night cycles. if you're not careful you will probably go crazy.

thomas edison is one famous person who shortened his sleep to elongate his days. he used the extra waking hours to steal other people's inventions.

Einstein had a crazy sleep system he used while working in his lab over a 8 year period. HE had a cot right in his lab, and wuld work 4hrs, then sleep 1. constant rotation.

I heard that the military invented a drug that allowed their soldiers to stay up for extended periods of time (48 - 72 hrs) without getting fatigued. After this extended period of being awake, they could sleep for 8 hours and they'd be back to normal, or so they though It was later determined, however, that there was a really bad psycological fallout.... they started going crazy.

Sleep is essential; your brain sorts everything you absorbed during the day into different "bins"... if you dont sleep, you turn into a crazy psychotic mess.

between the beginning stages of pre-sleep deprivation and the long term effects of hallucinations and basicly turning crazy, there is an awesome, calm meadow of an ability to hold a singular focus on whatever task you have at hand. i find that if im working/playing hockey/writing (sleep deprivation does not affect athletic ability) and am in a situation where i am not distracted, i can get some great work done.

as soon as i need to handle more than one thing things get wierd though.

But lo and behold as soon as I turned 22, pulling an all-nighter and/or not getting a minimum of 7 hours of sleep a night took me days to recover from...
thats so werid... ive been the same way ever since i turned 22.... serisouly... not even a year ago.. i could go all night without any drugs and drink and party and go to werk the next day totally fine... now that im 22 .. hell no.. i need at least 7 hours.. and if i dont.. im cranky and dont function quite as well...... so strange... i wonder if there is some huge chemical change in your body when you turn 22?.....or mabie it has to do with metabolism.. cause ive also noticed i gain weight alot easier/faster now if i dont eat healthy all the time.... cause i could always eat whatever i wanted and never gain weight.. now i cant...
ask bill nye.... he'll know!!!!
