Sure, I think it's great when amatures have the courage to get up on stage and spin, but she said it herself, tits and ass are her personal area of specialty. If I was an amature DJ, I would say my specialty is spinning good tunes. IMHO, If playing good tunes isn't your specialty, and your tits and ass are, you shouldn't be DJ-ing, you should be pole dancing.

Prove? Hmmm I'm more just in it for the fun, and the love of trance!!! I guess my blurb does go on about trance and wanting to share it. My trance (and my style) isn't really for this city anyway, I'm just trying to spread some of it while I'm still here. It wasn't supposed to be an attack. It's frustrating to me to see so many females dj's with talent(good looking or not) get put on the backburner and used as a gimic ie. sex sells. Because they don't get taken seriously due to pre-existing stereo types set by the entertainment industry as a whole. Of course you can be talented and good looking, what female dj isn't?

I realize what I said ealier was a little harsh, I appoligize. I support the idea of girls being talented and gorgeous, Half the sex appeal is because of the talent and the aspiration to constantly improve. Something about it is iresistable. You're right i don't know you and it was out of place for me to jump on you like that, and I honestly support you and wish you luck with your career. Missy Productions has supported an all girl line for the last two years at Apex. That amongst starting her own company in order for her to get a career started in dj'ing. So hearing about her having to fight the sterotypes to be taken seriously, makes me defensive to anything that supports it. Especially when it comes from a girl with amazing potential that should be recognized for talent. good luck with your passion, music is life

Apology accepted, thank-you. Wow that's an FNK rarity. And I know what you're saying for sure. It is hard being "just a girl" (as I always say) and being respected and taken seriously. It's like "Hello guys, hi, over here, hello?" sometimes but you can't let it get to ya. Thank goodness it's 2006! I can't imagine living in the old days. But in reality before women were regarded as sex symbols (before Marilyn Monroe days 1950's) we actually had a lot less respect, rights and power. Coincidence? Not really. It might be sad but sex appeal and using it as a source of power (combined with brains of course) actually paved our way through history to where we are today.

What's more it does seem that lately, all over the world, there's this trend toward female dj's becoming more popular or at least more recognized. The top 100 female DJ poll is evidence in itself of this: http://www.top100femaledjs.net/ Like wow eh! I can't even think of 100 female DJ's! Haha.

And I honestly don't think I could do what Missy has done (start my own production company). That takes a lot of confidence and guts. Good on you Missy! And Rhia as well! They both worked extremely hard last summer, I was there (helping Rhia). Girl power!
