Sony MDR-v500
Bought it yesterday.... blown away as to how structurely insulated this thing is... Absolutely amazing. Unlike the other shitty headphones I had that eventually broke I can beatmatch with both cups on my ears with these new one's. Now I wanna get the v700's!

My friend got a pair of MDR-V300 to use with his iPod. They are sort of "toy" DJ headphones, the bottom of the Sony line, and the sound is not that good but then again it's not that bad, and it's loud.
He got them for only $25! At Sears. I'd get some at that price but only for backup. Occasionally you find interesting oddball electronic stuff being discontinued at Sears and they will let you haggle the price down. click only if you really really want to see these embarrassing headphones, which no international DJ would be caught dead with: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/images/l...ges/175499.jpg |

I like my 700s but they are overpriced for what you get IMO. They are pretty solid, sound good, but they wiegh a ton. If I wasnt in such a hurry to grab new cans when I got my setup, I probably would have gone with something else. |

They feel a little flimsy and the right headphone slips off the bar easily and the cord is a little too short but they sound *fucking fantastic*. Great isolation, incredible bass response (but still retaining a flat sound) and pretty comfortable. Just gotta be careful with them when taking them DJing in clubs. |

The sony MDRV500'S and 700's have an amazing warranty on them. I bought my headphones like 4-5 years ago and I've gone through about 6 pairs. Anytime I have anything wrong with them, and I mean ANYTHING (i've even lied about the quality getting shitty because the cord was pissing me off) and i get a new pair. Buy the extended warranty and anywhere you go, if anything happens you get a new pair on the spot.
Yes, they have issues with cracking but just as long as you aren't being a knob they should last you at least a year. After that just get a new pair. simple as that |

I was never a fan of Sony's. I use the 500s right now for personal mp3 listening. But i'm thinking of getting these http://www.sennheiserusa.com/newsite...transid=005178
A buddy at work has them and they are comfortable as hell and sound great. I have senn hd280s for mixing and although the isolation and sound are amazing, they can get pretty damn uncomfortable. Senn's all the way though. |

when he starts using them when he is mixing, then slap him. ;) |

Theres also this new Senn HD215 model -might be some reviews by now. I have HD280s too but the headband ends have cracked and broken easily. I taped up the ends with many layers of electrical tape after the most recent warranty repair and that seems to be working. The 280s are OK, not much bass and dorky big.
