More Final Scratch Problems - Help!

ok so i have a different kind of erratic deck B behavior now. for the last 2 days only deck A (left turntable) works with FS. i don't get the window upon startup that says "deck b not responding" -- no it loads fine. but deck b is always "waiting" or "calibrating" but while deck a shows channel strength and calibrates quickly, it's like deck b is just not plugged in.

I'm running v1.53 for mac os10.3.9 .. until 2 days ago it was running like a charm.

what i've done to trouble shoot:

- obviously, unplug and restart, no dice.
- switched left turntable to deck b input: works fine, not the scratch amp B input.
- switched right turntable to "working deck a input" doesn't work : turntable problem?
- play regular records on that right turntable plugged directly into the mixer: works fine!

i'm using digital stanton str8-100's - if that makes a difference. they have a phono/line output switch -- obviously neither setting is getting this to work.

it's not like the channel strength bar is at ZERO -- just like 30% while the working deck is at 100%.

hmm.

what could this be??

Maybe it was one of the three volume knobs on the front of the ScratchAmp? Happened to me a couple of times, but I'll remember to look there first now. If they're set too low, the timecode signal doesn't pick up so well.
