An exciting bit of kit has just arrived at DJmag HQ – the Vestax CDR-07 is the world’s first CD turntable capable of recording CDs as well as playing them.

You can plug your vinyl turntable into the back of the CDR-07, so can transfer you entire record collection to CD easily.

The Vestax CDR-07 can also be used to record your DJ sets straight to CD, or used as a third deck as part of your exciting set-up.

The CDRW deck has three effects too - flange, delay, and filter, and of course can pitch shirt

DJmag will be reviewing the Vestax CDR-07 in the next issue.

I'm surprised people haven't made an SD card deck yet.

Just dump all your tunes onto a handful of 2Gb SD cards and away you go!

Or did I just give up the best idea ever?

^ i dont know about that.

with the worlds first ANYTHING its bound to have a few things people dont like but thats just normal.

Yeah right. Dance music moves so fast anyways.
Why not just but the mp3. Another redundant peice of kit. I mean how many of your old tracks are u guys converting anyways?

just an alternative to sitting at your pc transfering all your vinyl to digital mp3 files.

i find that kind of neat actually.

this is kind of uneccesary though

it's not like its that much more work recording vinyl from your turntables into your computer......or burning CDs from your computer

the Technics SL-DZ takes SD cards, not sure if you can load tracks or if its just for samples, cue points etc.

It's geared towards recording in live/club situations, not for home studios (obviously it could still be used at home as well). I think it's a great idea to be able to have a fully functional cd deck that can also be used for recording without having to hook up any extra gear. For those dissing this, Vestax has a history of making quality, innovative products, so I don't see why this would be any different.

I think its a great idea.. I would totally pick one up since im currently trying to convert all my trance into cd.

it would be so great for being able to put these tracks into storage. Make me neater too.

Then again.. Vestax also created the QFO.

my thoughts exactly. When it comes down to it if you serious in the biz, you either got pioneer decks or sereto.

there's not much you can do with a pair of 100's
its either 1000's or something else.
And serato is only good to use outside of home if you've got a mac laptop..

Neither of those choices are cheap.
