meh, torq would be great if all i was doing was mixing mp3s or spinning namely one genre or doing a lot of live-pa type stuff or playing mainly electronic, but it's not that great for hiphop and multi-genre stuff. I have no doubt that it'll get better with the next several updates, but for me Serato works better for my djing style.

^ I think you can use any 4x4 audio card with Torq, you just have to have Conectiv attatched at all times (sort of a great big dongle).
If you're interested and want to see it in action, let me know - we can work out a demo at my place or something. There are definitely things about Torq that I think work better than Serato... and there are a ton of great features on Torq that would probably make it very desirable to most (the fx come to mind - not a huge deal for me cause i have an external unit but they are pretty damn cool). For me, I actually have a couple of out of town gigs coming up really soon and i would rather just bring a small bag of records and a laptop than a big crate or two - so I'd rather have a tried-and-true program than a 1st gen program with a lot of potential but a couple kinks to work out (there's already talk of an update in the next 2 or 3 months). |

Big knobs switch between MP3s and Vinyl - there's 2 ways to switch - one is manually on the box and the other is within the program. Split and bypass buttons are used when you're using Torq in internal mode and want to be mixing tunes without any decks of any kind.

i'm using 2 TTX's.. they have line level output. and as far as i know from using serato, if you're playing mp3's back and forth, then you put on a regular vinyl record, it'll sound fucked up. and you'd have to unplug the turntable from serato, unplug the corresponding channel rca's on the mixer, then plug the turntable directly into the mixer. is this not correct? |

all analog to digital based dj in/out boxes have phono and line inputs incl. connectiv, no unplugging neccesary. also you can use any controller you wish with the program(i use a trigger finger) all controls can be mapped,as well vst filters can be used.
