...Something I've been wondering about actually...

Would it make more sense to rip vinyl using these as opposed to slip mats?
(any effect on tracking or feedback?)

I don't think you need a rubber slipmat to rip vinyl. I mean, how many djs rely on the slip mat to cue a record?

That's exactly why I want them.

Less noise than a slipmat = cleaner rip.
