if you have 30 grams or less, you face up to a $250 tick if your under 19 $400 if your over, the price of your tick depends on the cop and the amount, all it is now is you will have no criminal record,
ie you can now get caught, and will still be (legally) allowed to travel into the states. |

Nothing to be that excited about not much has really changed well in western Canada. I guess no you wont get a record for having a little bit of weed wich is nice nobody likes a record. As far as doubling the growing law thats the maximum penalty and I cant remember the last time I read in the paper of somebody even getting the max 7 years it used to be. Of course what they dont tell you is that yea your allowed to have a certain amount of weed on you without getting charged but if you have that weed packaged into a few smaller packs well thats intent to traffic so be aware of that. They have been talking about the laws all day on the news and what gets me a little mad is the only weed smokers they show are young skids and bums. You know what im talkin about just makes people who smoke weed look like hippy skids.
Another thing I found out watching today wich really made me laugh and shake my head well the American drug Czar was on the news saying how bad of an idea it is to loosen up the weed laws and that America doesnt support Canada's actions, BUT did you know that there are 11 states that have ALREADY decriminalized pot? The state of New York has had weed decriminalized for over 20 years you just get a ticket for smoking weed and having a small quantity. I was shocked I always thought the states were very strict when it came to drugs. Its funny they critizise Canada when Canada is just trying to catch up to some of the US states. I dont think that much will change as far as trying to free up the courts well I think instead of having a ton of criminal casses of possesion they are gonna have just as much if not more casses of people trying to dispute the new tickets for carrying weed. oh well guess well see! |

i don't see this as a milestone or anything. DO YOU know anyone who's been charged with possession with only 15 g's? i sure as hell don't. we will get hassled, they write a ticket and will search you to make sure you have under 15grams. gee that sounds like their treating me like a criminal.
like sh4n3 said, now instead of them stomping out a few g's, we can get a ticket. um i'd rather lose my 20 sac/eighth/quarter than get a over $100 ticket. it's stupid cuz they decriminalized it and yet there's not legal way to obtain it. and with harsher trafficking penalties it WILL drive the price up. making organized crime the official supplier. GOOD JOB LIBERAL GOVERMENT. |
