I have a better idea.. (at least *I* thought so.. go me go)
why not just make it the "HEALTH" section so that it includes every topic including sexual health, drugs, personal health and fitness.. I think that makes more sense. and as for moderators, I think that one's level of knowledge about sex is irrelevant to one's ability to moderate, cause when it comes down to it you want some one that can maintain order and one's knowledge about sex is going to get your very far when you're trying to settle a dispute. I think that making it a "health" section would broaden the diversity of topics... and would appeal to a wider range of audiences. There are people who don't do drugs, there are people who aren't interested in certain sexual topics, however I think that "health" is broad enough that any one can relate to/paticipate in. It isn't exclusive, and we still wouldn't be discarding the "sex and drugs" topic, as it would be included... It would also encourage new topics and a wider audience to participate. anyway. Yoko*- I agree that we should have a health section. But, I also think it might be an idea to keep the sex and drug section(s). It's just that alot of the topics in refference to sex don't have much to do with sexual health, and the same with drugs. Talking about spanking has nothing to do really with the health aspect of sex. However, I still agree there shoud be a health section and sexual, pyhsical etc health should all be acceptable topics. About the moderater situation, I wasn't nominating myself and the others because of Knowledge but because of our open look at sexuality, and there are more on this board that weren't mentioned. I figure someone with an open mind on the subject would have a broader, less biased or straight and narrow approach at making the decisions needed when moderator. Most people don't seem to give a shit, bit I'm still waiting for Myles' opinion.. Oh MyYYYyyYYyles? |

"knows what they are talking about" about what topic exactly? Sex I'm assuming. Was there another meaning to what you had said than what I perceived you to say? well i personally don't really care what happens but i figured that if any change is wanting to be made I thought that at least health would cover a broader range of topics: under description one could put down "sex, drugs, etc.." which would mean to include those general topics.. i see your point with the spanking example.. but the objective of my post was to include all topics to bridge together a SIMPLE SOLUTION without having to separate sections and make things more complicated for the admin. How many freakin sections do we need already? Oh well, i guess whether or not it's a hassle or even worth it is for the admin to decide. anyways, I agree that sex and drugs don't always relate to each other but it's always been "sex'n'drugs" i believe.... and it never really created such a problem that anything had to be fixed, nor has it really offended any one...Whether or not you seperate a section for drugs and one for sex, there will always be a place for sex and drugs and no one's interests is being discriminated against, because those interested in sex OR drugs OR both will still have their own place to post to. Putting them together is only being efficient. I think that so long as every one has a section that they can relate to and pretty much all topics are covered, then things are fine the way they always have been. Lostcause... what are you referring to? and yoki? whoa! Last edited by yoko*; Jul 30, 03 at 12:21 PM. |

HHmm. Oops, yah I guess I wrote that wrong because that's definately not what I meant.
And I still agree that we should have a health section, but it wouldn't be making things any easier than seperating the two because it would still be adding another section. Again, this was just a suggestion because they don't seem to belong together in my mind. But I'm sure as hell not going to shrivel up and die if the sections aren't seperated and it's obviously not up to me so.. whatever. |

Another small thought:
In S/M scenes GENERALLY but not always (depending on the situation) using drugs before going at it is REALLY looked down apon because you are not in full control of your body.. So for most nights out at the profesional (if you could call it that, I just say they are the cooooool nights) events if you're using, you sure as hell are NOT playing. Another reason to seperate drugs and sex. I mean, if you're high on Gib or some shi/te like that, are you going to remember to sanitize your hands correctly before you reach down and touch a womens 'no place' ? Prolly not. And for all of you who DON'T know what happens when you put dirty things down there, most times an infection ensues. random kink night rules list I pulled up http://www.kinkzone.ca/private/zoo_rules.html Quote:

I guess what all my posts are about here, is just HOPEFULLY educating a few of the raver kids so that they can have safer sex, and end up being happier, disease free e-tards.

and hey- I REALISE that there ARE drug-free people on here, I was just using the generality as a shock-value statement so you could see what the topic 'sex and drugs' looks like. Anyways- if I offended you, I apologize, **hugs |

reiterated: it's the taboo section. 'bad' things go here. i think it serves its purpose well enough. i also don't think it has enough traffic to warrant splitting it up into two sections, (which is really the only point of having seperate forums at all.)
