ebbo: buddy i drink at raves. my original point was that some of these peoples who's exact words are 'i don't do drugs, i drink' i've seen the evidence of their previous drug usage on this board. i'm talking about the people who have a condescending attitude about drugs now because they ruined it for themselves. i have friends who do a similar thing as your buddies, drink some, pop the other. i'm just sick of seeing these 'wise 18-9yr olds' talkin smack about drugs, but act like liquor is good for you. especially when they are ex-users.
what's wrong with e? honestly, nothing, if taken in moderation and responsibility. so u don't do e? big deal. in this 'scene' most people have and or still take drugs. i was drinking before i was raving, way before i was raving. so it's not like i'm talkin outta my ass. i could care less if you drink, my point is your average party-goer, yes the plaza kid who drinks now, is an ex-user who fucked themselves up and act holier than thou regarding x. now your a bit older than myself, and i assume at most hardcore parties the crowd is older. which generally means a little bit less drug use because they've gotten older and take it a bit easier. particularly since it isn't exactly as new and exciting. not to mention the toll alcohol takes is usually lighter than drugs imo. maybe it's all b.s. it is a theory after all. but that's how alot of people strike me. re: drink vs drug Last edited by Hot Karl; Oct 14, 03 at 06:19 PM. |

i think it's kind of funny how both viewpoints associate the other's choice of drug with flailing in an attempt to justify their choice.
nothing really comes out on top. it just means that one's drug of choice is the one that they can use without making a fool of themselves. or, a bit more accurate, one's drug of choice is the one that they have used and have yet to do something embarassing while on it. when that moment of shame comes, more than likely you'll switch drugs. this is especially so with all the newbies out there, when you will sooner or later see how silly you look (or act) while on e, then reject it for another drug. now, i'm tempted to reject this theory of mine, outright. this is not because it's on very vague and highly subjective grounds. but rather, that these are fucking raves and people should be able to do whatever they want while on them and not think a second though about how they appear to others. |

not that EVERYONE shouldnt drink at parties, some people can do it and they can handle it fine... do what you want, i got no problem with that. as long as you're havin fun if i had to do either, i would do e, but im hardcore cutting down on the chemicals.. the mushroom is my weapon of choice :) |

Hmm... I think that whatever you wanna do to make your raving experience its best... do it...
I mean, if you don't care too much about your health and wanna do whatever it takes to maximize your experience, its your choice right? whether its E, Booze, Weed, or staying sober... Whatever floats ur boat, as long as you know the cosequences and continue to do it, then its ultimately your choice right? just my 2 cents... In Addition its kinda funny how alcohol has been so rationalized these days, it is still a poison just like the chemicals used in drugs aint it? |
