Generation to Generation

First it was the 50's, all the kids wanted to rock and roll. Than it evolved a million fuckin times and now we have a mix of free-open minded individuals. Ever since music was born to a freemind, the population has learned to express themselves. I am happy to live in this day and age where i can goto a party and hear beastie boys followed by Fear factory followed by 50 cent. everyone is happy now, We are evolving to love every idea.
When i was in high school i could remember going to a party and putting on some punk or metal or anything "different" from what was on. Than the bitchin would proceed, and all the rap-only loving closed minded ppl would vioce there bullshit opinions..
-you cannot dance to rock and roll!
- you cant just chill listing to rock..
C, the point of genres of music is that of the point to reach all and in the end all music is good.
KNOW THAT!

the love for any genre of music is purely subjective. I have absolutely nothing against people suggesting Rocks socks, rap is crap, and electronic my dick! I, for example am not a big of a fan of country music (except when they use slides on accoustics) and sometimes don't hesitate to voice my opinion. thats fine, I think. I believe thats the freedom we deserve.

as for the "scene" - I think that it has always been loyal to music lovers. Even when it was all about Rock n Roll [as you say], there were many undergroundaz creating house music, and rappers dropping bombss... its a non-stop, and ongoing process, which is bound to alternate every now and then.
Freedom, however has always been there. Thats what this is all about. I do not imagine that we have just came upon to a point where there is freedom of choice. There are different places for different people, thats for sure.
