Quiting weed for a while
In a quest to get back into shape I've decided that part of a good diet plan would be to give up the mary jane for a while.
Now this is no easy task for me. Pot is basically the only drug I use rather casually...I don't drink, cigarette's I never buy and quitting those will be easy, don't really do e anymore, about the only drugs I do are psycodelics and those I usually plan the trip carefully. So I was wondering if any of you have had taken a break and consider yourself a chron. I usually smoke 1 to 3 joints a day about 4 times a week. Today was my first day and it was shitty, I had like 3 buddies come over all offering to blaze me up, and I turned it down. I'm still tempted but I'm on a mission to become ninja, so it's day 1 of 133 and I want to know if you've ever done this sort of thing what worked for you. I just want to prove to myself that I don't need this shit, because I don't, it's purely a desire. Thoughts? |

i say try to cut it down to the point where its not so much a habit anymore. Make it a social / entertainment activity. And add a healthy diet along with physical activity to your day to day life style. It worked for one of my pot head buddies. All he needed was a lil motivation.

good idea man, i've been drinking smoking and smoking ALL summer and beyond... but aug 31st.. the patch is going on, and i know i can do it cuz i've done it before .... i smoke alot of pot recently... but once i quit smoking it'll be easy, drinking well be the hardest but its all about staying healthy... by november i'll be a machine...just like i was last june...
quitting smoking pot is by far the best cuz it completely interrupts what u eat and what u accomplish in that day.. |

I think the best thing you could do is to remember why you are taking a break from the sweet sweet crizon. I used to smoke 3 times everyday and now I barely smoke at all.( Like 1 toke every 2 to 3 weeks) I can even have people smoke it in front of me and I don't feend it. Just keep trying and remember everyday without it makes it easier in the long run! |

Like most other people that posted, i used to smoke at least 4 or 5 times a day for a couple of years. I tried to quit about 2 or 3 times with no success, finally i just decided that i would just take a long break instead. When i was on my break i noticed how i had so much more energy and motivation, generally i felt 100% more healthy.
I also noticed that my performance in snowboarding and other sports had risen. So after my break was over i decided that i basically had no reason to smoke pot everyday, and like that i stopped being chronic. Now i smoke pot maybe once or twice a week, mainly when im out with buddies or at a party. Like G-Style said, just keep trying to remember why you took a break in the first place and it should make things alot easier. |
