The black case is an after market case, as opposed to the silver trim.

how many people actually buy phones without the plan to help make it cheaper?

Where as North Americans buy the contract and then the phone.
Its the other way in Asia and very many other places around the world.

ya i mean, its a good idea i guess, but since i have no problem being on a plan since mine is so good, then its nice to only pay like half the price of the phone

this is true, however, here in north america we also get shafted for available handsets.

they all pretty much suck in comparison to the rest of the world

I can attest to the fact that it's a pretty good phone - used it for a couple months until I got some nicer ones.

Good features, tons of software available for it and a 2 megapixel camera is better than anything you'll find in North America (unlike europe and japan where you have 3-5 mpxl cameras standard).

I love this phone and if it was a quadband phone i would be keepin it.

its an azn thing. i shelled out $850 for my phone and it still retails for $1250 at fido today

Ah kewl. My buddy just got that HP phone, dude that thing has a 4 gig memory card in it. He has like everything on that phone, its pretty much like a mini laptop and a phone in one, lol. Its also a touch screen which I think is like one of the best features in a phone these days.

The next phone I get is going to be a touch screen one.

That's pretty much the direction most high-end phones are going nowadays.

Open OS for developers to make programs, wifi support, high-speed ota internet, handling all media files...

Can't wait til vancouver is all wifi so I can start using VOIP on my wifi phones and only have to play a flat $30/month fee and get unlimited calling in the city. Just need a basic pay-as-you-go plan for when i'm out in the country and i'll be laughing.

its a Nokia 8801. Like i said its an azn thang lol. Its a thing alot of white people dont understand imo. Some people have the misconception that some azns are more rich but imo its only because alot fo us are more willing to spend the money towards thigns like exspensive clothes or phones. Everyone has money to a certain extent. I choose to spend mine on exspensive clothes and phones. Some people choose not to and spend it else where. To each their own i say
