Pleather (PVC) is a HELL of a lot worse for the environment as it never breaks down if you chuck it out... where as leather does. Leather always lasts WAY longer than pleather does in everyday use as well.

I know a lot of vegetarians who will still buy the occasional leather belt or boots purely for these reasons because in the end buying fake leather is a lot worse for the world... animals included.

Just my two cents.

I'm not really against leather or anything, because the cow will be slaughtered regardless of whether they make use of the hide or not. . but it's just not for me.
