nah they charge like the minimum balance of each month x how much you have left. Rogers is a flat fee of 200.

Cancelling a telus contract will cost $20 multplied by the number of months left in your term OR $200, WHICHEVER IS HIGHER.

I did that not too long ago..the best $200 to rid of a plan that was not for me...no headaches with finding a new person..although my plan was reasonably well priced...I just got cheap..that's all ;)

^you are aware that you can change your plan at any time right? The only thing you are comitting to with a contract is to be Telus' customer for that length of time. If you want a cheaper plan, just change it, you don't have to cancel.

I should have mentioned I had a family plan with two phones...so I cancelled one line instead of assigning it...but still, when you are with Rogers...you get good service.

i'm trying to get rid of my telus contract as well.

not because i've had bad problems with them (i've had a few, but nothing serious, and they've always fixed it promptly), but because i can barely get reception in my own home (which is pretty important when it's your only phone).

unfortunately i have about 16 months left, and i don't have that much cash to just pay it off.

What phone do you have?
Have you tried updating the roaming list on your phone?
*22803 while you are in a digital service area, 1 for english, 2 to upgrade roaming list --- might help, might not.

i have the LG8100.

i just tried that, but it didn't make a difference. i have fine reception pretty much everywhere else.. even right outside the house. it's just inside that it doesn't want to work. thanks though! i asked if there was anything i could do, but no one told me about that.

odd.

I have the same phone, being that it's so new you probably already had the updated list. It's only dual mode - so if you look at getting another phone try to get a tri-mode one - your house could for some reason require you to hit on to analog to get 100% coverage - or your house is just the 'phone pit'. :)

Not with rogers. I've recently found out if you want to change your plan they make you re-sign up to a 2 or 3 year contract again. What a joke.

I got what you said, thanks. I was just commenting that Rogers sucks as compared to Telus for changing plans, that's all. Sheesh!

I have 2 cell's with rogers currently and 1 with telus. I love telus compared to rogers. 10000x better custoemr service, even though I spend 300+ a month at rogers and only 60 at telus.

^ I love the new rules at Telus (ie. "FUTURE FRIENDLY PROMISES")...if you wait on hold with customer sevice for more than 5 minutes...they credit your account the per-minute rate for every minute you wait. If you drop a call, they credit your account........which means, no hold times and less dropped calls because they don't want to spend the money!

telus sucks, CDMA technology, who the fuck uses that anymore other than telus seriously... it limits you geographically, if you travel, or you like the freedom of being able to have ANY phone you want (not limited to the one supplied/offered through the phone company) switch to fido or rogers and go GSM!!!

FUCK TELUS AND THEIR SHITTY ASS PHONES & OUTDATED SERVICE.
