alot of people pay for art
believe it or not, they even have these things called "galleries" where people go to look at art.

and don't even go into that "well it's not a fuckin' van gogh original wawawawa". even the smaller artists gotta make a buck....they need to buy crayons and stuff, u know?

true. my rents paid 2000+ each for 2 lithographs,
it's a good investment, because its prices don't really go down with the economy like other goods would.

mister-peenutt has a little shameless behaviour in the past
2000 bux for 2 little pictures?!

holy shit what a waste of money! (my opinion).

if i splatter a whole bunch of paint on a canvas and said it represented my anger and stress would i make money?

to me i think i would.

i just don't think paying thousands of dollars for something that doesn't do anything is a waste....

mister-p, they're not lil pictures, they're 2 big lithographs haha.

well if you think about it, the value will most-likely go upwards, rather than down. (assuming that it's the real thing). it's kind of like investing in a company. you buy stocks, it's risky but still you do it, the value goes up? great! the value goes down, poopoo on you. but in the case of art-work (again, assuming that it's the real thing) the value is most-likely (i think) to go up especially if the artist is fairly well known and still gaining popularity..
who knows maybe in a couple years he'd be the big topic in the art.. community..

i think they (my rents) bought it because it was a good investment. i guess it's all about whether you realy appreaciate art or not i personally don't mind having those two lithographs hung up in our living room, they're very unique and interesting,

but investing in art is only a small example of what other "ridiculous" investments other people make. for example, a car. why do certain people obsessive over cars, it's beyond my comprehension... a hung of metal? wuts up with that. I could say the same for cars as you would say for artwork.

i guess it's all about interest. If I loved a piece of work, I would be willing to invest in it, but I do agree... 2000 is a hefty price, but ofcourse we can just resell it and get our money back if we wanted to ;)
