DAVIES MRS. VERNA DAVIES (nee Christie) passed away at the Lethbridge Extendicare on Tuesday, April 17, 2007 at the age of 76 years. She is survived by her daughter Roslyn (Clarence) Kelln, sister Rose Jarvis, daughter-in-law Monica (Ed) Warbrick, grandsons: Jason Passey, Kevin (Lyndsey) Brees and Neil (Erika) Brees, great grandson Owen, granddaughter Rhona (Darren) Dundas and great granddaughters Madison and Paige. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws and her very special friends Maria Passey, Deb Koch, Mary Lindstedt, Bobbie Hanley and Susan Probert. Verna was predeceased by her beloved husband Bruce on May 7, 2001, her parents William and Rose Christie, her beloved son Billy Passey, little grandson Jeffrey Brees, her sister Margaret and infant sisters Lillian and Sara and two brothers George "Bud" and Billy (in infancy). Verna was born in Lethbridge on January 30, 1931 and educated at Westminister, Galbraith and Lethbridge Collegiate Institute. She was employed at law offices in Lethbridge, Edmonton and Calgary prior to gaining employment with Canadian Western Natural Gas (ATCO) in November 1963, retiring in July 1992. Verna had a passion for doing needlework as gifts for her family and friends. She enjoyed bingo with her late sister Margaret and her friend Ann Hawkins, reading and especially her daily card games with Bruce. She was a long term member of the Ladies Auxiliary, Lethbridge Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion. At Verna’s request, there will be no funeral or memorial services. Cremation. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Alberta Lung Association, Box 4500 Station South, Edmonton, Alberta T6E 6K2 or to a charity of one’s choice.
