LastWerd is on a distinguished road
Wanted: cheaper place to live for Sept 1st

We are for sure moving Sept 1st.
Our rent is currently $1700 in yaletown for a 2 bedroom + den/storage area.
We want to put money away for a few investment ideas plus into our company.
Looking to stay downtown or close to, we could handle less space.
cat ok and parking needed

If you are moving for Sept 1st or know someone with a place available, please let Matty or I know. THANKS

1700!!!! holy fuck, and that is just rent???

you should think about buying something. you could easily have a 1200 sq ft townhouse with a mortgage around $1200/month depending on downpayment and credit. But that is out here in surrey.

1700 is not bad at all for Yaletown.

Obviously i have thought about buying a place- not an option right now and would never buy in Vancouver. Our market is going to crash.
Olympics are the worst thing to ever happen to us.

$1700 is a lot to pay to live somewhere. Rent is too high everywhere here.
But i am stuck here, so anyone hears of anything cheaper and will most likely end up smaller, hit me up.
Its just matty and 1 so we dont need two rooms - do need office and storage space though

Olympics are the best thing. without them we wouldn't be getting the long overdue Sea to Sky changes and the Canada Line. and when the market crashes, then people our age might be able to afford to buy again.

and yes it may cost more money than it makes, but when you factor in things like that, it means we come out WAY ahead.

the rental rate is at 3% (really low) ive been looking for a 1 bedroom place in vancouver for the last 3 months. i currently have a 2 bedroom with no roommate and the price i pay....id be crazy to leave and pay the same for a 1 bedroom at what they have out there right now:(

im sure u have tried craiglist, vancouver sun and the province. so i wish u both so much luck. if i hear anything ill let you know:D

I think my place might have an opening, it's 1300, but in the west end. Two bedroom.

I think you should know what you are talkin about before you speak.
We live in a dope place and its a good deal for Vancouver- its not my fault it costs this much to live downtown in a nice 2 bedroom plus den that allows cats with a pool, sauna, insuite laundry, underground parking, 24 hour security, sound proof suites, killer view.
It's also not my fault that our roomate moved out before the lease was up - so we had to stay and pay the full rent. We are leaving as soon as we can without loosing our damage deposit or good reference.
SO, for your comment you are a dumbass and stop being a jerk and jumpin to conclusions.

The best thing to do if you are looking in the west end is to just walk up and down the streets looking for signs.

I talked to my landlord about craigslist, he says that if you put an ad up there you'll have 20 emails a day.

A lot of places just put out signs because it is easier for them.

That's how I found my place, and I love it to death. $1250 a month, two bedrooms, and a patio the size of the apartment.
