HR & Recruiting Coordinator - Blue Castle Games

The Human Resources & Recruiting Coordinator will be a critical member to Blue Castle’s growing HR Team. We make video games and foster a fun, creative work environment. We are in pursuit of a highly organized candidate who has a passion and genuine interest in Human Resources that will help take us to the next level… That’s where you come in.

Poise, the ability to multi-task several high priority items with intricate details, superior “on-the-fly” relationship building skills, and the ability to go the extra mile in a fast paced, ever-changing HR/recruiting environment are qualities we are looking for in this position.

The HR & Recruiting Coordinator will possess a passion to anticipate and meet our candidate’s and our team’s needs as well as a desire to attain the highest level of quality candidate experience and customer service to our studio. This aptitude and people skills are especially important, as the coordinator will interface with internal staff and candidates of all international backgrounds and levels.

HR responsibilities:
• Work with the HR team in the development and implementation of special projects which may include career fairs, coop programs, company events, and presentations on new HR programs, policies, and practices.
• Support and administer employee programs, services and initiatives.
• Maintain an intricate knowledge of our studio benefits programs to answer general employee inquiries, including administering online employee benefits.
• Ensure that all new employees have the tools and resources they require to get up to speed quickly (i.e. hardware/software, network/facility access, office furnishings/equipment/supplies, business cards, etc.).

Recruiting responsibilities:
• High volume and detailed interview scheduling and coordination.
• Courteously and efficiently facilitate international travel scheduling and requirements.
• Assist with the relocation of out of country/province new hires.
• Online Job Posting (internally, and to recruitment web sites).
• Conducting ad-hoc candidate pre screenings and reference checking as required.
• Track applicants through the recruitment process.
• Assist with the creation and maintenance of job descriptions for new and existing positions.

REQUIREMENTS:
• Demonstrated passion for, and genuine interest in the Human Resources Profession and recruiting in a creative gaming environment.
• 2+ years in a Human Resources or Recruiting Coordination capacity where you have ideally supported 3+ people or multiple business units.
• A degree or diploma in Human Resources Management, Business or relevant discipline combined with the experience listed above is a plus.
• Knowledge and understanding of relevant employment legislation, including the BC Employment Standards Act.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills and proven strong customer service orientation.
• Expert knowledge in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel and the ability to grasp new technologies quickly; HRIS experience beneficial.
• The ability to balance internal staff with diplomacy.
• Excellent communication, organizational and administrative skills.
• Self-starter with an ability to work as part of a dynamic team with a "can do” attitude.
• Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion and diplomacy dealing with confidential and sensitive matters.
• Ability to prioritize multiple functions and tasks, manage work time efficiently with minimal supervision; working in a face paced environment which is still being defined.
• Self-directed, detail-oriented, problem solver, with a desire to contribute to the organization’s reputation and success.
• Previous experience with CRM-type systems (Customer Relationship Management) is a plus.

The studio was formed in 2005, fulfilling the desire to start a company where creativity, experience and hard work come together to create outstanding games.
