listen im not saying the ps3 is bad, but you are picking up the 'non-casual' system with the lesser amount of quality games, the lesser online experience, and the lesser userbase vs 360 because it has a blu-ray player.
now in the future, the ps3 may catch up in these categories, but why subject yourself to being an early adopter and suffering through that? |

To be honest with you, i dont play a lot of stuff online.
the only game i played online 360 is rock band. didnt like COD 4 nor halo 3. The big turn off was the xbox 360 breaking down on me, so i really dont trust the hardware, esp. with 2008 models doing the same. As i said in a previous post, i havent found too much indicating that PS3 is a POS in terms of stability. As well, I hear the PS3 is silent. I hated the 360 chugging sound, it woke up my roomie all the time. I agree with you it doesnt have an extensive lineup of games. But the games I do like are on the PS3, multi-platform. As an added bonus, I watch a lot of movies and a blu ray player is definitely a welcomed bonus. |

there's only 2 games that are exclusive to Xbox 360, that I'm hating myself about
Resident Evil 4 (which is being released in 2009) and Ninja Gaiden 2. I feel that Team Ninja.. will obviously make a Gaiden sequel for PS3, they did do sigma. |

i would be more concerned with facts than anecdotes. (i've had my 360 for almost 3 years now and i dont have any noise or breakdown issues)
the new 360's use a smaller die process, the old one's major problem was heat issues that caused mb warping. if there's ever a problem in the first 90 days, just take it back to the store and get a new one. or send it in, it has a 3 year warranty. or, go buy another one from futureshop, switch the drives, and return it. i mean there are a lot of easy options for every problem you have brought forth. especially when there is a much higher chance of a good xbox exclusive coming out that you will have to sell your ps3 for. |

Rawb, from the amount of nerds on this site.. I value your input the most.
but in all honesty, i've checked the future releases for both PS3 and 360 and most of them are multi-platform. and I really dont want to buy a dead technology (the hd-dvd drive) for the 360. Can ya see where I'm coming from? |

not sure if you were being serious, which you're most likely not. But if you were, it would be a waste of DVD's. I can see my wii in a month collecting dust. |

we can replace it.. my friend is going through some tough times with his family (mom just died) so we're going to hold off. We did open it up (and it was a pain in the ass), replaced the heat sink paste. Same error came up. So it's drilling time. |

and quite frankly im sick of reading reviews for the virtual console.
more than half of the reviews on the Wii are to the virtual console. Like who gives a flying? the wii is looking like a stupid NES,SNES,GC,N64 system rather than a next gen console. |

When you make decisions you should make sure the reasons you use are based in some form of reality. The only reason I will eventually go with the PS3 is Metal Gear 4 and the fact that it seems like 90% of the premium xbox exclusives are FPSs which I can't really stand. And Super Mario Galaxy is just plain awesome. The wii will likely never be anyone's primary system, but it'll always have that little thing called Nintendo-developed games which will generally be a guarantee for quality. |

It makes sense to release a blu ray add on. Hopefully they do release one in the same range as the HD dvd add on. I dont think it'll happen. I could go buy a PS3 right now, and leave the wii. But i dont think im too happy with the wii currently and I dont like the games. I'm not a fan of the Mario series, I did pick up Paper Mario, but i've already beaten it up. |
