anyone selling/renting out their grad/formal dress?
okay totally worth a shot.. (oh gawd i sound like a cheapass bum)
i have tons of other stuff im saving up my money for right now and school next year blah blah blah.. i dont wanna spend too much on my grad. i really dont want to blow $500 on a grad dress. i just called my ballet seamstress(sp) and shes loaded with wedding stuff to sew...that reallyyyy sucks. i tried one on my DREAM DRESS..and it costs 519...psychoooo. =( i stared at myself in front of the mirror for straight 10 mins just admiring the dress.  anyone have a dress for a size 2-5ish with a small bust...around 5'6" or so. the bust thing is critical...unless im buying it off you and i can alter it. if i rent it off you..i dont wanna mess the dress up. particular things im looking for (i know i really shouldn't be picky): -black and red would be IDEAL -or plain gold, cream, black or red would be wonderful -simple pattern/style would be fine. -puffy princessy bottom (i can always go out and rent the puffyness stuff to put under the dress) -perferrbly halter or tube top. (remember small bust) -2 pieces are welcomed. or if anyone have a seamstress or know a store that rents out/sells dresses for a reasonable price PLEASEEEE LET ME KNOW. leave a msg here, or pm me thanks. :gross: i sound like such a bum... ackkz

My mom recently bought a "prom" type dress for $125, I got mine for $180 and it sounds like something you would be looking for minus the puffy bottom.
Just look around, there are a lot of places that sell dresses for cheap....

i live in richmond..it sucks here badly.. i went to the asian malls over the weekends..even though my mom did some hardcore bargaining it didn't really go anywhere..dresses around this area is psycho expensive. i heard new west is pretty good.... my dress is gonna be "non-taxable" and same goes for my wedding dress in the future.. :hehe:

Yeah I bought mine for 180$ too but plus tax and what not it went up to 200$ like erica..
I think it's all where ya look. You still have PLENTY of time, I got my dress (red) on West 4th... there's a nice dress shop down there. One of my girl friends got her dress for like 50$.. at bryans.. because all those dresses were last year's style.. But trust me, you'r ereally not gona give a fuck about what you were wearing @ prom a few years from now.. at least I didn't... so you might as well just go cheap.

i attached another pic of it to give you a better idea. when do you need the dress? if i'm back in van for summer break by then, you're more than welcome to borrow mine! i'm not sure if it'll fit but we can give it a shot if you haven't found one by then.

hmmmm i need it by mid june i believe. i guess ill continue to shop around..just scares me that the majority of girls already have theirs already. i want a lil "poof" to my dress.. i think thats where the mula piles on.

My dress is pretty fit to the figure so I can't help ya there ;] Besides, I'm pretty short (5'1).... Don't feel too bad, I bought mine the day before grad and was woken up 1/2 hour before I was supposed to leave for grad to my friend calling me asking, "Are you ready to go?"
"Go where?" "Uhhh... grad... " "OH SHIT."

Bev don't be freaked that alot of girls have their dresses already..
There's also alot of girls who don't! Like you, and me! I'm waiting for a bit to even start looking for mine. I know a few people who bought their's super early and by the time the grad came around, they didn't like them as much. I'm waiting till like end of march/april before I even start looking. There's lots of places that sell cheaper dresses. Can't think of any off the top of my head right now, but I know there are some. Good luck to you! =)

if i want my dress made i should be getting the details done with the dress maker around NOW...and that scares me
i just want to look pretty pretty at my grad.. and i didn't relieze it was this pricey til a few days ago. okay must find cheap fancy pretty dress..MUST. miss t...thanks for reminding me. i just emailed her. i LOVE that dress too. such a pretty color and exactly what i want...the poofness is perfecto

the dress i found was exactly like this..but instead of the blue it was black... I LOVED IT. fit sooo nicely. maybe it was because i curled my hair that day or something..but everything looked perfect.. just the price wans't too perfect. *pouts*

holy crap its much cheaper on teh site i found that pic on... my moms actually tinkin about buying it off the site and alter it when we get it... its like 2/3 cheaper than the store we found it in.

if things don't work out, you can definitely try mine on. i'll be back at the end of april, so there will be plenty of time.
the pic of the dress that you posted is beautiful! :) like mistress said, if you're going to order it, order it WAY ahead of time. i got a jean jacket online and it took AGES and AGES for it to come...came much later than they said it would and although i called many times, i couldn't do anything about it. good luck sweety! :)

Hahaha.....this makes me think of how spendthrift I was for my grad.....I spent $60 on my grad dress (that's including taxes) and it still fit in perfectly with all the other stupidly expensive dresses....
You can always call me and take a look at mine (604-626-3278)....it doesn't have the poofiness though...however, it has a train at the back. It's red and pretty simple....I don't have pictures, sorry. *Jen*

the picture you posted of the blue dress...is everywhere.
if you're the kind of person that would hate having the same grad dress as someone else...i would not recommend getting it.

Don't spend a lot of money on your dress, there are very, very few occasions later in life where a grad dress is appropriate (unless you get one like Azn_Sweet_E's). All of my friends who spent $200+ on their dresses regretted it, because really, it's one night, and it's usually not even that fun a night anyway.

Well I have a princes gown if you like its a two piece size 4 but its a bustier so you can adjust the back and its for a small chest as well. but the colour is purple kinda an or ochid colour. I had it made coustom but i couldnt afford the crinolins so i had to rent one because the dress was supposed to come with 7 and that would cost a lot more than i was ready to spend. I'm not selling just renting. but its a great dress I would have to say every girl at my grad was mad at me cuz they liked it so much. but I dont know if its the right colour. I can try and find a colour photo. but if you look in the gallery just look under my photos there is a pic in there.
