modded ps2's are BUNK.
You dont ever want to buy a modded ps2, or to mod your ps2 with a chip that plays burnt games. My buddy did that cuz his poor ass only had a job drivin mr.dickie around to all the little kiddie parks in town, and he got all his little burnt games for $5/per and then like a month down the road all of a sudden his ps2 sometimes wouldnt start. Or it just wouldnt read any games (real or not) this happened at random too. Sometimes she'd go, others she wouldn't. Also ALL the time the ps2 was really noisy, like an old ass computer running kazaa or something, like REALLY NOISY.
There has been other minor problems as well, but those 3 are the ones that you notice big time.
Im all for getting one used, just make sure it isn't modded.

I think your buddy got it done by a shitty place and got a shitty chip as well. Me being chinese ive had modded systems my whole life. All my friends have modded ps2's and most of them have had it since it came out and it still wrks fine.
