yah i think ttx's are better. i dont like the feel of them so much, but the key lock is the coolest shit to hit a turntable in a long time.

shame on you - tech 12's have been the industry standard for longer then you've been alive! Technics are the only decks around that you can buy that will last you a lifetime. |

A lifetime? Ida know... depends how much u use them- and abuse them- they might hold up much better than most at abuse by many drunk DJs, but for home use - practice, there are better fish in the sea than Technics....
Numark TTX-1 - played on em' sweet machines! American Audio HDT 4.5 - Tigh Torque! Good features - solid... |

Actually, I would trust you more on the deck issue since im just starting to play. But.... I own a pair of american audio tables... and then are SOLID... th torque keeps the pitch from slipping, and the features are not in your face like in the Numark TTX-1 (although I love those tables).
DOnt get me wrong, if I was travelling... I would get techs, but cheap ones, not for 800 each... |

here's a story for you guys, It's a true story, just trust me on this. DJ Nemisis, for those of you that know who he is have probably heard this story a million times, but anywho. His Father, who was the infomus, DISCO DAVE from back in the 70's had his pair of Technic 1200 MK2's guess what nemisis uses to this date! the same ones.. now tom has been DJing for like 7 years or so, and his father disco dave wow god know how long he did it for, and member back in the day they weren't a common thing to have equip like that due to how much they were, new technology and all! and then being stored in the 80's and half the 90's and now that's a long ass time and they are like new still.. beat that for lifetime garuntee. I would never change my tt's, I've had them since i started same with my HP's... tech 1200s aswell! my mixer is a vestex and it's been through a lot and though it's funked.. it held it's ground very very very well! and yeah that's all i have to say! and also say if lil miss fun fun wanted to purchase the tables seprate.. would you sell the cases seprate and or how much?

I have an original pair of Tech 1200's, they are European models from the 70's and they still rock it as solid as any deck out there...and a fair site better than any cheap ass Vestax, Numark or American Audio.....and that's after getting thrown on the floor by a crazed coker that sent both platters and arms flying off, having countless bottles of beer, wine, and other spirits spilled on them, being moved here there and everywhere...dont fukk with the Techs...sorry if this came off as harsh, but im getting really sick of having to make replies like this to all these fekkin newbie/wannabes that are all glitzed up by the wirr-click-beeps and flashing lights of the new decks.

IMO I think it doesn't matter what tables you have, ie what is "better". When you play shows, chances are you'll be on Techs & if you're not used to them you'll have some problems. Especially if you're used to relying on some features of the other table that aren't available on the INDUSTRY STANDARD tech.
So go if you want a fun cool techy table buy whatever, but if you want your tables to learn on and prepare for playing out buy a tech. :smoke1: I've had my techs since 97 and they run fine. I've even dropped thema few times. |

I think new stuff is comming out and other brands are trying to be competitive with the technics. They are still the ultimate ( the M5Gs) on the market, but other tables still beat them in features and price. Technics might have been the shit for 30 years, but other DJ manufacturers want a peice of the Technics action too. I definetly agree that if someone wants to play out, they will have to get used to the features and the torque of the technics.
