Actually that's not true at all.
I work for an apparel distributor so I know how much wholesale is - basically at sample sales and warehouse sales the goods are generally sold at wholesale or wholesale + 10%. Wholesale is most commonly 1/2 of the price you see in the stores - so if you're looking at a $120 T5S hoody, it actually cost the company $60 to purchase it from the wholesaler or manufacturer. This is also why most retail employees get a discount of 40% (cost + 10%) or 50% (cost).
