ENGINE: - 205,000 kms on car, with 155,000 approx. on 2nd engine - 1.8L BODY/TIRES/WHEELS: - original black paint job with no rust, minus one spec under the back window - tinted - 95 gti five star rims on newer michellin pilots (90% tread left approx) SOUND/ALARM - Ungo Alarm - Panasonic cd deck - Pioneer 6x9's powered by small sony amp - also wired for subs (im taking out the box) - wired and ready for added subs Lots of mechanical work done within the last couple years including: - new battery - new clutch - tranny replaced - new spark plug wires - new alternator - new starter - new engine mount Runs real good, but could probably use a winter tune up sooner or later. I have all receipts for this work as far as I know Just Aircared it two weeks ago (good for another two years) FLAWS: - Headliner sagging - missing cig lighter (I never cared cause i dont smoke) - glove compartment hatch is broken on one side(still opens, closes and locks fine) - as for the body it has some folds onlong the driver side door (from before i bought it 4 years ago) and one small ding on the left rear corner Ive had one ICBC claim on it since Ive owned it: The front bumper was ripped clean off and fog light broken while parked at superstore from a redneck in a pickup pulling out beside me and not clearing the front of my car. New front bumper adn fog light. I also have the work and receipt for this see pics here: http://www.vwdov.ca/forum/showthread.php?threadid=57304 Last edited by beat_farmer; Jan 05, 05 at 06:55 PM. |

Sorry but it's not worth $5G. You'll be lucky to get 3G for it. I mean come on over 200G KM and for it to have needed all that work on it ie: clutch, tranny. It tells me right away that whomever has been driving this vehicle doesn't know how to drive stick and that they've beaten on it while they have had it. You should be very thank full if you get 3g for it but I ain't gonna buy it.

Obviously your not that familiar with automobiles. The car is 12 years old, its very rare that a 12 year old car is going to have its original clutch still installed. And if it did, it would be on its last legs. Putting new working parts in a car to take care of it, is a good thing. Its a pretty straight forward concept I would think.

g u dont know much about cars do you? or maybe u are mixed up here because original clutch's last about 170km, and a 92 GTI is worth that price i mean have u checked into VW???? obviously not lately because VW is one of the most expensive old cars u can buy, look into these kinda things before you speak because for 3g's u could maybe afford a 84rabbit........ look around then speak... this car is extremely reasonably priced and if i wasn't in school i would concider buying it......
even if it is only a 8v. |

imo 4900 is a bit much for this car.
you can find clean gti's for cheaper. i know for a fact, cuz buddy just got 2 early 90's gti's, cheaper, cleaner, way less mileage. still a decent ride, but i'll be shocked if you can find anyone to pay over 4k |

Dubs knows whats up. Vw's are well known as retaining their value as used cars. My car is not mint by any means, but its priced right in the same ball park as the others for sale in the buynsell right now. Not to mention the hundreds and hundreds of dollars I have in reciepts for new/replaced parts for it.
December is a bitch to sell a car, but i can always wait for the spring if I have to. B//F |
