I don't believe there are any sound cards with RCA inputs, just XLR and 1/4", but they're several hundred dollars
ANY soundcard will let you record your mix... you just need a Y-Adapter cable. 2 Male RCA's on one end, and a 1/8" headphone plug on the other end, like this "premium" one: http://www.radioshack.ca/estore/Prod...roduct=4202613 Wal-Mart, London Drugs, RadioShack, Futureshop, anywhere that carries audio accessories should have one of these cables... a "non-premium" quality one that I got at London Drugs for $4 works great for me. Just plug that cable into the "Line-In" input on the soundcard Last edited by dSl-DuDe; Feb 15, 05 at 08:25 PM. |

A Soundblaster Live 24 card is low-cost and does a reasonable job, like DSL-D said it uses a 1/8" stereo line-in jack, you can get a 1/8 to RCA adapter cable for about $6 to connect to your mixer if you want to record a DJ session.
I use a Soundblaster Audigy card which is an upgraded version of the Live and it works fine. http://www.A-Power.com has OEM versions of these two cards for $35 and $57 which is hard to beat. If you can't find a card to borrow and want to buy one, don't spend a lot on a Soundblaster/Creative card since pro and semi-pro cards are not much more money, starting about US $100. I've bought from these guys no problem: http://floridamusicco.com/products.asp?cat=22 |

Thanks guys!!
the audio card i currently own has a Y adapter that i'm using as a temp for recording. the two RCA inputs go into a 1/8 plug, but it just sounds like crap because I have an old computer. soundcards with RCA are expensive but worth it in the longrun for sound quality on my demos. Thanks :) i'm interested in that sound card decypher might have though... |

Disregard the above if you're just using an onboard soundcard (the one that came with your computer). In that case, I fully understand. Onboard soundcards are crap. |
