Perhaps you should explain the care a chinchilla requires... such as dust baths etc... and the fact that they live up to 20 years.

yeah i know this. I've had animals all my life and used to be in 4-H... it's not like I'm gonna just give him to anyone. I have never given an animal up until now and it's because I can't take care of it alone and my roomate just doesn't care really.
