Online shoe shopping horror stories?

i have my eye on a pair of shoes, and would have to order them from and to the states(Wash.) as they don't ship to Canada (f you Zappos!)

anyways, i am sceptical about the whole ordeal and want people to encourage me and/or tell me no, no, don't do it you foolish bastard!

either wya i will more then likely do it, but any personal experiences would be appreciated.

first off: what site are you buying from?

second of all, what kind of shoes?
be VERY careful of fakes.
if you are interested in buying, request extra pictures of the shoe, the tag on the inside, the box ect ect. the person selling shouldnt have a problem supplying said photos.

also!
look at their accepted methods of payment.
i strongly encourage paypal only so your credit info is safe.
don't mail cashiers cheques or give out creditcard info.

I have an address in the states, so I've always had good experiences ordering US delivery only.

It just takes a little longer for me to get what I ordered in my hands.

get them shipped to a letter carrier place just across the border and go pick'm up.

ie: blaine or pt roberts. cost is under $5 for normal/small sized items.

I've always been against buying shoes online because you won't know if it'll fit you well until you get to try it on. But I guess that goes for all clothing items.

It would suck to spend the dough on them and have them be uncomfortable. And even if you can return them, you'd probably lose the shipping.

I know they sell Lacoste runners at Plenty. Perhaps give them a try, however; I don't think they have much of a selection though.

i have an address i can have them shipped to in Blaine so it would work out.

i can ship them back if they don't fit well, but then again shoes like this never fit like a good pair of real running shoes so i would be more worried about getting a defect or something.

I have ordered a few sets of boots from Angels and Vixens, have had a great shopping experience on-line. If you feel taht the store is legit I would say go for it... internet sellers are VERY concerned about customer service as if tehy grow a reputation of being untrustworthy or unreliable then they are going to close down quickly.
