My office is currently looking for new travel consultants responsible for selling vacations in Whistler. It is an inbound call center located in North Vancouver, and you will recieve paid training for the poition. The first training group will start on August 8th. PS: if you like snowboarding and can't afford a seasons pass, this could be a good job for you. ;)

I. SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES Using outstanding sales skills and world class customer service to assist clients in planning, selecting and booking their complete vacation package that are best suited to their needs. II. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Plan and organize travel arrangements for clients (qualify the customer) • Research and source information for lodging, activities and transportation based on client’s request and preferred location using available resources (i.e. the intranet, websites, brochures, maps, ski magazines, etc) • Make accurate bookings by using a computerized reservation system • Apply sales skills on each call, showing commitment to increase revenues and meet monthly targets • Effectively use upselling and cross selling techniques to enhance client experience and increase company revenue and promote travel destinations • Meet and exceed call centre statistical targets to achieve company objectives • Counsel clients on terms and conditions of travel or resort policies (ex. minimum stay, reservation policy and cancellations) • Engage in first phase of problem resolution regarding client complaints • Embrace coaching and training as an aid to meeting personal and company goals• Participate in outbound calling projects as requested III. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Report any discrepancies found on the intranet, related websites etc. to ensure accuracy and consistency of information • Compose and process thank you letters, e-mail and fax confirmations • Participate in peer coaching IV. JOB SPECIFICATIONS i) Education and Experience • High School Diploma • Travel Diploma an asset • Minimum1 year sales experience within a customer service environment • Strong computer skills (ex. MS Word, Outlook, internet navigation skills) • Resort or travel experience is an asset ii) Skills and Skill Levels • Aptitude for selling (strong sales skills), closing ability • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with good command of English or English/French as appropriate • Strong interpersonal and active listening skills •Organized and detail oriented with thorough follow-up skills • Able to work well under pressure • Ability to establish and maintain relationships with clients • Team oriented • Typing skills – 30 wpm iii) Effort • Considerable degree of mental attention and professionalism required to ensure accuracy in quoting rates and information to clients and prospective clients iv) Working Conditions and Environment • Sitting for prolonged period of time in a confined work space in front of a computer screen • Rotating shift work to schedule If you are interested in this position, you can follow the link below for more info on the job and to fill out an application.
