Thats what I figure too.

Word for word his linemates ain't gonna be feeding him the puck like the sedins.

I highly doubt Carter is put anywhere near the amount of points he got last season with dan and hank.

He's always been a floater look at his career. Stops in edmonton, boston, vancouver where else there's more he just got to play with skilled players who would pass him the puck

Ya it seemed pretty much after luongo and the mitchell trades the chances of actually signing carter were pretty much gone because the cap room was limited.

I wanna see if the sedins can keep the same pace as they did last year without carter though.

I agree...sort of like the story with Bobby Holik leaving New Jersey to play for NY Rangers for $10 million a season and look at him now! He is NO-BODY. If Carter really wanted to grow his career, he should have stayed in Vancouver and let the Sedin Twins increase his value (and vica versa). The chemistry these guys had was great. But Carter's agent thought more, so they went for the money aspect of things..then again, if you look at the whole canucks' roster, where do you think Carter would stand in terms of value to the team in relation to the salaries paid to the players? If there was no salary cap in the NHL, then of course we would sign carter...but with the cap, it forces teams to equally distribute the funds amongst all players "fairly" and shutting up whiny players who just play for the money of the game and not for the love of the sport. I'll go read The Province now...good day~ :)

Hot Karl is an unknown quantity at this point
1. he only fit in nicely with the sedins because he knew his role and he was (up to that point) the most talented guy to play with the sedins.

2. carters' talent level is debatable. at best he was a 30goal type anyways so it's not unbelievable to think that either chouinard or bulis or even nazzy could replace anson. besides, anson is on the down swing of his career, regardless of how awesome his chemistry with the twins there will be drop off.

3. he's over 30. he has to take this deal from columbus because his career can end at any time. and it's not like carter has made tens of millions. so i can't hate on him for going for the dollars at this point. besides if he's still a servicable 2nd/3rd liner in a few years he can sign for the cheap with a contender.

4. twins have improved every year, and every year they plug a new bum to play with them. the key isn't the bum, it's the twins. they never needed a black guy to make it the brother line.

I agree and disagree ^

while he's not super talented, he was the perfect player for the twins. bang and crash the front of the net and shovel the puck in. sedins have always played well but their production was a lot better with him. he is reaching the end of his career, but id rather spend 3+ on him than 3+ on morrison err should I say chokisson .. like a deer caught in headlights everytime he has an opp. to score. or 3+ on mitchell, 2 on kess , etc etc

oh well. as long as they put the right player with sedins it will be all good.
