Adjustable Beds

Anyone ever had one or slept in one?

Are these things comfortable?

I would get the memory foam....

But I need a bed that is adjustable, cause I have a medical condition that I am trying to cure without surgery. I can't use just pillows cause you won't stay on pillows all night, and my head needs to be higher than my torso and legs.

the nasa beds are sweet (adjustable) but the memory foam can make making whoopee awkward

it has no bounce, you see. takes some getting used to.

as a professionl mattress salesman lol........mem foam beds are great. BUT, you have to be a very specific type of sleeper to get any benitift from them.

they dont breath very well,in fact they dont breath at all. so if your a hot sleeper, the matress becomes very very hot. over time persperation builds up in the foam cause its trapped and thats not very healthy.

also, if your a heavy sleeper, the pit that the body creates is very difficult to get out of. thats a potential for back problems.

a good majority of the coil matts now have at least 1.5 inches of mem foam on the pillow tops wich i think is perfect. cause nothing compares to the support and breathablitly of a coil based matt.

there is another on the market....latex foam. its not a mem bed but rather complety based on porus latex sponge. if you dont want a coil bed these things are great cuase they breath really well and offer a great support system close to coils.

and as always....when it comes to the brand, unless there is a specifc matt you LOVE!...the best overall choice would be a sealy.

I am allergice to latex. If I were to sleep on that, it would be my death bed.

My g/f just bought a Tempurpedic mattress and it is unbelievable.

She was looking into getting the adjustable base for it and I spent about an hour playing with it and it is very comfortable. I personally liked the setting which lifted my legs up a bit and it was microadjustible.

Nah - I thought about those, I need something that keeps me propped up. Pillows won't work, I need a permanent incline. :(

Look for hospital remote beds with a RoHo mattress

This is the style you are looking for, but with comfort right?

You can get a hospital style bed with a therapeutic mattress that doesn't technically look like a hospital bed that helps your condition.

Perhaps seek a supplier?

That's just cause you didn't have to share the bed with cats or alex. :p

I am hoping my insurance pays for it.
