Vancouver, B.C. – Vancouver Canucks Senior Vice-President and General Manager Dave Nonis announced today that the Canucks have acquired goaltender Drew MacIntryre from the Detroit Red Wings in exchange for a conditional pick in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
MacIntyre, 23, split the 2005-06 season between the Grand Rapids Griffins of the AHL and the Toledo Storm of the ECHL.
In 13 regular season games with Grand Rapids, MacIntyre posted a record of eight wins and four losses (8-4-0), a 2.91 GAA and save percentage of .897.
The backstop also made five postseason appearances with the Griffins.
MacIntyre’s record through 33 games with Toledo was 24-7-2 and included two shutouts along with a 2.06 GAA and a save percentage of .926. He played six playoff games with the Storm.
The Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island native was originally drafted by the Detroit Red Wings in the fourth round, 121st overall in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.
