im not sure how many muslims are on this site, but i know there are a few..
its coming up on september 24 ..who here plans on fasting :1step:

im gonna do it. well try to. ive done it for the past 15 years with no problem.

How long do you have to fast for?

its usually about 29 days. you fast all 29 days, starting at sunrise all the way to sunset.

i tried it a couple years back, but im anaemic ..and i fainted during one of the fasts..it was to hard with school/work/sports..

I'm not a muslim, I just play one on tv. I work graveyard shift, so I'm usually sleeping through the day, and do all my eating at night anyways. So I guess I've been fasting for about 3 months now. I always like to get an early start on my Ramadan fasting.

No. Only recently have I been able to open up to the faith. I still have deep rooted negetive feelings towards Islam and any organized religion. But my support of the the struggle for human dignity and freedom takes precedent over my personal beliefs. I understand what Islam represents today, just as it represented in the US in the times of the segregationists. There is no other option, than to support any and all who fight against imperialism.
