Are they the glass ones?
There was an article on Daily Planet and in Popular Mechanics about composite glass (i think that's what it was) wheels. Seems like a really cool idea. The biggest problem they were having was road noise, understandably.

Supposed to be 7+ years before you'll ever see them mass produced.

edit. wheel wells are never a pretty sight...those pretty much show the whole wheel well... usually..thats what you're trying to cover up.. by lowering and putting bigger wheels...but when you got those wheels... =/
