I own a house!

I just inherited a house from someone on my dads side of the family.

I didnt know him nor do I believe Ive ever met him. But he left it to "Richards son" or something like that!

House is in Nova Scotia (where I was born)

Im quite shocked!
Kinda feel bad too. Ive never met him or even spoken to him. And he leaves me a house!

Im getting the information in the mail about the house, size, propertly, location, land value, and such!

Apparently he left a letter and some instructions that go with the house?!?!

Just found out about it a little while ago, so havent had time to think much about it!

I could move in, rent free. But then I have to go back to NovaScotia. Where I dont know anyone!

I dont know where exactly it is. My aunt said its not to far from my grandparents place. Which means it could be near the ocean. But we will see. I definatly would like to know more abouts what going on.

Yeah, I kinda would like to keep it. But depending on how much it is worth, the money from something like that (if its worth alot) could pay off alot of my debt (student loans and such) and maybe even get me a nice little place out here!

yeah..thats a smart way of looking at it, have you seen or been to the house?...i would think it would be neat to at least see it before you flip, or im sure you could rent it out to a nice young family or something.

that way you would have a nice additional income and a nice asset in your portfolio.

then when you go to your bank here to get a consolodation loan or a mortgage and they see your a property owner they will throw all sorts of money at you///

Probably. Plus, houses/land arn't worth as much out there. So selling that would really only make a decent down-payment on a house out here.
