fantastic DOC for the intellects...

i watched this Great doco on 'the big picture' with avi lewis on cbc this past sunday. caused some serious debates. i love that show.

i was floored. i thought it was fantastic and really well produced and very controvercial.

i found it as well on google video, it says part 2 but it seems to start at the begining. i really enjoyed it and i know theres a few switched on people here that would really dig it so i wanted to post it up.

take a look

Great documentary...
The only problem I have with it, is the same problem I have with preachy religious people.
I think everyone has the right to believe whatever they want to believe.
Personally I believe that there is no god of any kind and that we're here due to evolution.
I think it would be a fantastic idea if children were exposed to all beliefs and ways of thinking and could form their own opinions, but we all know this is never going to happen.
I think it's important to keep an open mind and that everyone should have a voice and everyone should be heard.
But I had a problem with Mr Dawkins interviewing a rabbi and a christian school teacher and telling them that they are wrong.
Just my two cents.

Thanks for this gem. I've forwarded this word of Satan to all of my friends.

Interestingly, I don't agree that you need science to debunk religious mumbojumbo. In fact, it has been my experience that people who have completed science degrees are more likely to be religious than those who took arts degrees. I think a science degree omits the teaching of a rigorous critical sense - simply because it is all about teaching 'facts'. People who study in the humanities on the other hand are forced to constantly re-evaluate what 'truth' is. Thinking about my friends: my engineering, chemistry and nursing buds all believe in a traditional god, whereas my history, philosophy and english buds are agnostic-to-athiest. I myself did an arts degree; now I believe in infinite possibilities (infinite space+infinite time=infinite material possibilities of which I exist in just one) and do not subscribe to any religious organization.

It has been said that you lose 2 things when you go to school: your virginity and your faith.
