Which mp3 player to get?
It's finally time to do away with my old 64 meg Creative Nomad II (I'll miss you my love!) and get myself a new mp3 player.
Just wondering what everyone else out there has/likes/doesn't like? I'm looking at things in the 1GB ish range that I can use mainly for running/rollerblading/hiking with. Thanks in advance! |

either ipod, or minidisc, don't get any regular shitty mp3 player.
minidisc has better sound quality than both, and 1 battery will last you like a month as apposed to 2 days. only downside is bit bigger, and not as much storage on 1 disc than say an ipod. meh. |

I ended up shouting no to ipod and purchasing a 2GB "creative zen v"
I've had nothing but great experiences with my past purchases of creative products and the reviews on the zen v labled it as top notch, plus it's got a nice look to it. It's also smaller and $10 cheaper then those damn nano's, and fits generic brand armbands so I'm not stuck paying $40 for a confounded ipod custom armband. Take that ipods! |

ipod is the most popular for a reason......it's good
don't bother getting something shittier just cuz you wanna be different........itunes is getting huger and better all the time....and it's so easy to manage a good library on ur computer and update your ipod with it. ipod's got so many features aside from music and video too.....it's got an alarm/sleep timer, stopwatch, calendar, clock with different time zones, games, contact list and notes |

The ipod is as popular as it is for the same reason that Grey Goose vodka is popular, good marketing.
Don't get me wrong, ipods do the job just fine and I'll agree that they look pretty cool too. I do feel that the creative zen v is a superior product to the ipod though. It's smaller, costs a bit less, and has super user friendly software. As far as other features go, it has all of those as well but I really couldn't care less, I bought it to listen to music on and that's about it. Each to their own though, as long as it does what you want it to that's good enough! |

the nano's real trendy and cute 'n all......but it doesnt hold as much as the bigger ipods....and lacks a few of the features.......i'd go with the bigger ipod if you have a big library.....but if you dont have a lot of songs, or don't mind choosing what songs to put on your ipod then the nano's good. Personally I have like 20 + gigs of music in my library so the nano is way too small
