cruises are more of a "lazy vacation" type thing. Everything is done for you and you are essentially treated like royalty for your stay. However, you honestly aren't really going to see that much of the areas you'll cruise around - or at least you won't get to explore as much as you'd probably like. There are often strict time limits when you're at port and more often than not, you just get to see a glimpse of the port towns.
Going to somewhere like Japan will require a lot more planning but it's a lot more of a real adventure... |

(fyi all the google adds in this thread are about carribean cruises on my screen, clever)
thats totally my point tho.. sometimes in down for a do nothing waste the days vacation.. and sometimes im down for a run around and see everything vacation... they both have value.. now to find something that appeals to everyone involved.. hrmmmm |

Yeh it is lame. If you are going to do something by yourself why not just go travel?
You would get way more for your money if you just booked a flight to Thailand or S. America. You will learn more having to get around on your own and you won't be pressured to consume like a fat pig 24/7 like on a cruise. I guess it all comes down to what type of person you are. |
