Your right Bourdon and Fitzpatrick were lost all game, and should never ever play without a veteran player. Actually overall our defensive coverage and clearing rebounds is killing us. I think Bourdon just needs to be brought up a little slower and not thrown into pressure situations which was like every shift tonight lol. Fitzpatrick not sure about him at this time. He could have just been having one of those horrible games that nhl players get once in awhile. We seem to be a step slower at times too. Sharks were always skating at the same speed, we seemed to get faster than slow down. I kinda see where your going with the if we lose luongo. Drafting for high picks, because quite frankly we are scary low on forwards after the sedin line. I honestly think we got rid of way too much. We put too much faith in bulis providing 25- 30 goals this season.... We needed carter for the sedin line and for naslund to play on the second line. <- my thoughts true we got a killer swedish line now but we got no balance. at least back in 2002. we still had a decent second line with the sedins and whoever was playing the wing with them. Taylor Payat and Fiztpatrick can get on the next bus to anywhere. Or just shoot them selves in the face. They are that useless. Payat looks as big as Marek Malik out there but plays like he's 5'9". If he had any balls to go to the net he might be a decent player but still just looked way to slow out there. Bourdon looked like he was way to nervous and is definitely out of place. Krajicek was a nice surprise for me though. He wasn't being touted as NHL ready but looked a lot better than Bourdon or Fitzpatrick. Bieksa is well on his way to being a new fan favorite. He has a really good mean streak to him that the whole team could use a dose of. Loungo had a bad game and probably wanted 3 (at least) of those goals back. All the same he's the best thing since sliced bread where I'm sitting and Nonis better hope he doesn't get hurt.
As for coaching I like Vigneault's approach in some ways. He's playing the big line but mixes it up freely. He could paint himself into a bad corner though if he can't establish a credible second line some time in the next 10 games or so. Speaking of the next 10 games this is basically training camp 2.0 for this group. None of these guys have played together. Loungo hasn't faced many of these shooters and isn't used to his defence yet. Players are still jockeying for a spot on the team really. Look for a trade in the near future for another veteran d man. |
